Notably Ornate on the Stampin' Up! Retiring List

Oh, I am sad to see this one go!  Stampin' Up!'s Notably Ornate (wood, clear) is retiring at the end of May and I LOVE this set!

This sample is a little note card, 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" folded in half. The ornate, lined image in the background is stamped in Jet Black Stazon and the Take Note oval, Broadsheet Alphabet (wood, clear) monogram, and sentiment from Apothecary Art (wood, clear) are stamped in Early Espresso Classic.  The beautiful bird in flight is in Marina Mist with a Subtles Designer Button to match.  This set can turn any handmade card into simple elegance!

Stampin' Up!'s Change = Progress

There are quite a few items on the Stampin' Up! Retiring Accessories List!   Included are our Classic Stampin' Pads.  I wanted to clarify that the colors are not retiring, but the new Classic Stampin' Pads will now be foam rather than felt pads.

From the Stampin' Up! Facebook page...

Starting June 1, our Classic Stampin’ Pads will be updated with a new firm-foam pad that offers better ink coverage and, in turn, better stamped images. There seems to be some concern about all of our Classic Stampin’ Pads being on the retired lists. Not to worry! Our core colors are not retiring; we are just updating and improving the pads themselves.

Some other changes include:

• Only select Stampin' Write Markers will be available individually (Stampin' Write Markers in color collections will continue to be offered)
• 12" x 12" Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered
• 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections.
• 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections.
• Craft Ink Pads will only be offered in Black and White.  Craft Ink Refills will no longer be offered.
• Stampin' Spots are being discontinued.
• Items with asterisks are being reconfigured. This could mean repackaging or improvements.

A Day in the Life 2012 and My Digital Studio- Earth Day

It's been a while since I've posted a page from my 2012 digital scrapbooking project!  So,today I'm sharing a page I created this weekend.  We visited Roaring River State Park in SW Missouri and enjoyed some of the Earth Day festivities.  

Our daughters have taken part in the Nature Center activities since they were VERY young!  Now at 27 and 31, they still enjoy visiting the center, hiking, and are excellent fly fishers!  Lots of fun memories here!

On the Stampin' Up! Retiring List is this beauty, Fifth Avenue Floral.  This card, in Neutrals, gives a unique look to this floral stamp.  The outlined images layer beautifully and a tone on tone rose lends itself to a masculine feel. 

A strip of Mocha Morning Specialty Paper adds an modern accent.

Stampin' Up! Fabric Accent Video Tutorial- Graduation Card

Today, I have another Stampin' Up! fabric technique to use in your paper crafting.  It's about time to start making graduation cards, and I think this one would be perfect.  Fabric used here is from the Timeless Portrait Collection 122337.

The Word Play( wood-120308, clear-120651)sentiment is a bold yet motivating statement.  For a masculine card, just omit the fabric element!

Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue Medallion Birthday Cards

Enjoying some family visiting from out of town this week but I'l have some Stampin' Up! cards, projects, and ideas to share with you each day.

I had some fun playing with my Vintage Vogue (wood, clear) and Medallion stamps last week. You know how I love to use scraps on my desk to try and pull a card together and these two were the result of a unique combination of elements.  Try using something for inspiration as a starting point.  My inspiration for these came from a card on p.218 of the Idea Book and Catalog.  Of course, these are totally different than that particular card, but it was the idea that inspired me and these birthday cards were the result.

Have you ever used the ideas in the catalog for inspiration?  Lots and lots to inspire you there!  Give it a try!

Remembering the TITANIC- 100 Years Later

I am a TITANIC enthusiast.  Not just about the movies, but everything TITANIC.
And, so today, in memory of the souls lost and those who carried the memory, I'd like to share some resources that may interest you ...if you're an enthusiast or love history.

In Branson, MO,(I have visited) and Pigeon Forge, TN are TITANIC Museums...huge!... and full of artifacts and information. It's a glimpse back in time and a tribute to those who were there.
