Make A Gatefold Card with Eastern Palace Suite

Gatefold-card-belly-band-4-2aToday's project is a gatefold cardmaking video makeover featuring the Eastern Palace Suite from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  This is a beautiful set and coordinating designer paper with endless possibilties for cardmaking.  It's been quite a while since I've used this set and paper so wanted to share this one today with you.

That front panel is a bit different than what I use on most belly bands.  The band itself can vary in width according to what you like but it needs to be 11" long so you have plenty of room to wrap it around the card and lap it over to adhere it in the back.

Let's take a look at the original video, a Christmas card, below.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • The belly band for today's makeover is 2" wide by 11" long.
  • The panel on the band is 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" in Dapper Denim and 2 1/4" x 4" of Very Vanilla.
  • The flower is colored with a Watercolor Pencil and Blender Pen.
  • For gatefold base, cut cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Score at 2 1/8" and  6 3/8".
