Make A Thanksgiving Hostess Gift!

Diy-hostess-gift-1Today's project is a great idea for a Thanksgiving or holiday dinner hostess gift.   It's a jumbo size tag that serves as a type of gift packaging for a pretty fall themed kitchen towel.  The beautiful Gourdness provides the main image with the Autumn Harvest Designer Series Paper as the backdrop.  You can see another video using this set in yesterday's tip post HERE.

I found these towels at a local fabric store in this Crushed Curry-like color.  I knew it would be a beautiful companion for Painted Autumn collection.  Seriously, don't miss this suite in the Holiday Catalog.  It has been SUPER popular...Painted Harvest stamp set and Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. That stamp set is bundled with that a precious leaf punch that you'll be able to use on lots of projects.  I'll have the links to these along with the supplies for this project below the video.

Back to School Notepad Gift

Last night on my Facebook LIVE broadcast, I made two cute back to school notepad gifts for teachers or friends.  Did you see it?

If not, why not join us there?!  Many of you are on Facebook daily, right?  I know that I love seeing so many cute photos of my family and friends there.

This group was created as a place for us to gather where I can share what's going on in my crafting (and, sometimes, family) world.  It's a "sister" to my Ink and Inspirations with Lisa Brown page...another place you should be! ;)

These are the back to school notepads that I made...

Back-to-school-notepad-1These were designed for a 3 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1/4" notepad that I found at Target.  It's a good idea for a teacher gift, co-worker gift, or even a stocking stuffer.

Back-to-school-notepad-2I think this Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper (above) is just right for this project.

Back-to-school-notepad-3The notepad cover above features the Whole Lotta Lovely Designer Series Paper collection.  It's a little more on the frilly side but just as cute!

If you'd like to see the process and are on Facebook, hop on over and join the page HERE!

Another "don't miss out" is my email list!  I'll send emails weekly with project ideas and first notice of specials.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek at this back to school notepad and I hope you have a great weekend!

Makeover Monday Video Tutorial- Gift Certificate Holder

Makeover-monday-gift-certificate-holderThis week's makeover is a gift certificate holder that I made for my daughter who is a Senegence Distributor.

She was donating a door prize for a special event for nurses and wanted something pretty with a gift certificate.  Now, the "lips" and the doily are retired from the Occasions Catalog but you can use any appropriate stamp and embellishment!

Here's a look at the inside with the gift certificate that I made for her, too!

Gift-certificate-holder

Let's take a look at the original project video tutorial that inspired this card.

Lisa's Inkings:

  • The base is cut at 9 1/4" x 6 1/2".
  • Score the base at 3" and 6 1/4" with the 9 1/4" side at the top.
  • Layer of designer series paper is cut at 6 1/4" x 2 3/4".
  • Belly band is cut at 1" x 7 1/2".
  • Top embellishment is adhered to belly band so that is slips on and off easily.
  • The gift certificate is mounted on a piece of card stock for durability.  I printed the gift certificate on plain printer paper and it needed somethings to give it a little substance.

If you need some details about the products used in this makeover, please leave your question in the comment section below.

*On a personal note...

We have a busy month ahead of us...family reunion, new granddaughter's birth, and the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Thailand that I earned for my husband and me thanks to so many of you and my awesome Stars Team! (Thank you!)  I've been very busy preparing projects and videos for you, but if I am "quiet" for a few days at some point, you'll know that something big is happening!   There are some exciting times ahead for the Mr. and me and our whole family.

Thanks for your understanding and for tuning in for today's gift certificate holder idea...see you again soon!

Just when you think that Stampin' Up! could not possibly come up with another cute container idea, we are introduced to the these wood crates. Super simple to cut and assemble, these cute crates have so many possibilities and pair well with the new designer paper stack, Wood Textures.

Let's just see how many ideas we can name to put in these little crates!  Add shredded card stock filler as needed...

  1. Sticky notes for a gift as seen here.
  2. 3" x 3" cards and coordinating envelopes.
  3. Packaged candy.
  4. Small apple and shredded paper filler at each place setting for fall.
  5. Two hard boiled eggs (still in shell) at each setting for a breakfast or lunch.
  6. Salt and Pepper shakers for your table at an outdoor lunch or picnic.
  7. Small gift soaps in a cello bag.
  8. Small bath bombs in a cello bag.
  9. Cookies in a cello bag for party favors.
  10. Small cut pieces of card stock with favorite recipes for the bride to be.
  11. To hold wedding favors at each guest table at an outdoor or country themed wedding.
  12. So many possibilities!  Add your ideas in the comment section below!

Let's take a look at the easy assembly of these wood crates in the video below.

Below is the supply list for these wood note crates.  Simply click the links to shop in my online store.  I really appreciate your consideration in shopping with me! :)

Lisa's Inklings:

  • You'll need two pieces of  the 6" x 6" Wood Textures Designer Paper to make one crate.
  • Want a sturdier crate to hold something with a little more weight?  Use our Stampin' Up! cardstock.
  • Use scrap pieces of the designer paper and Crumb Cake for the stamped and punched elements.
  • In the video, I used SNAIL for the adhesive but I have had better results using Fast Fuse.

Wood-crate-notes-2Be sure to add your ideas for contents in these crates in the comment section below.  I'll be back tomorrow with a way to dress up those sticky notes in these new wood crates from Stampin' Up!
