Patriotic Party Favor for Flag Day and Fourth of July

6-14-fourth-of-july-party-favorsTo celebrate Flag Day here in the U.S., let's make these patriotic party favors!  These little treat cones always turn out cute and you can make them in any size by starting with a square piece of designer paper or cardstock.

Please forgive the fact that my treat cones are not stuffed with delectable goodies.  It's just too tempting for me!  So, I opt to stuff with shredded cardstock which will add to the look of your project even with or without the treats!

Embellishing these little cones has no boundaries.  Have glue dots?  Then, you're set to go!  I have found that the best adhesive to assemble to cone is Tear & Tape.  It's easy and convenient and provides a good stick.

Here's the how- to in today's video tutorial.  Have questions or suggestions?  Post in the comment section below!

See the Patriotic Party Favor for Flag Day and Fourth of July on You Tube HERE.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • For this favor, I started with a 3 x 3 piece of designer paper.  You make these starting with any size square.
  • Glue Dots make it easy to add ribbon and embellishments for these treats.
  • You can make these cones for any occasion!  See other examples HERE and HERE.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Study your glass to determine what width you would like your strips to be.
  • For this one, the strips measure 2 1/2 x 12 and 1 1/2 x 12.
  • The excess was trimmed after wrapping the paper around the glass.
  • Here, die cuts and ribbon were used for embellishing, but you can easily use a stamped image or punched pieces.

  • For the handle, cut a piece of card stock at 1/2" x 7 1/2".
  • Staple each end of handle to top of each side.
  • Staples are covered with a punched flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
  • Adorn the center of the flower with an enamel dot or rhinestone.
  • Stamped image is punched with 2" Circle punch and backed with a 2 3/8" Scallop Circle.

Makeover Monday- Stampin' Up! Winter Wonderland Trash to Treasure

Stampin-up-winter-wonderland-button-box-makeover-12-21Ever start to throw something into the trash and then think, "Wait a minute...I might be able to use this," and tuck it into a drawer for "that day"?

I do this often and sorry to say that many times, I'll end up trashing it anyway. But this time, it was different.

If you have Stampin' Up! buttons, you probably have some of these circle shaped plastic boxes in your craft room.  Well, let me tell you...it's just the  right size to dress up and hold a pair of earrings or a few mints.

The embellishment that tops it off may look a bit familiar.  You're right! It's the same concept and supplies that was shared in last week's Makeover Monday HERE.

Today's makeover is this trash to treasure piece featuring the BEAUTIFUL Winter Wonderland Specialty Paper from Stampin' Up!

You can see the original version below or HERE on my You Tube Channel.

inklings:

  • Short on time?  Top off your button box with a simple stamped image punched with your circle punch.
  • Use the Specialty Paper, Gold Foil, or Glimmer Paper to add a shine to your project in lieu of glitter.  Dazzling Details works great, too!
  • Our Tear and Tape is much easier to use than Sticky Strip.  Just rip off a piece and you're good to go!
  •  Our Washi Tape is varying widths really made this makeover come together in a jif!
  • Gold Cording is sold out!  Subsitute 1/8" Gold Ribbon. (see below)
