Makeover Monday Video Tutorial- Make a Masculine Birthday Card

Masculine-birthday-card-1-8-14This week's Makeover Monday features the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper for a fun and bright masculine birthday card.

I'm sure you've you heard the saying "let your fingers do the walking" in reference to the Yellow Pages in a phone directory (or, maybe that was before your time).  Today, I say "let the paper do the talking"!  If you have some bold and vibrant designer series paper, a simple sentiment and embellishments will be a good finishing touch.

Let's take a look at the inspiration for this card in the following video tutorial.

You can also find this masculine card video HERE on You Tube.

Here are the supplies used for today's card.  Shop easily by clicking on the link!  Host Code: A7H2YHVU

Makeover Monday Video Tutorial- Make a Masculine Valentine Card

Masculine-valentine-card-makeover-1Today's makeover is a Valentine card with a masculine feel in some of our beautiful Stampin' Up! Neutrals.  The Sealed with Love stamp set provides the sentiment with copper embossing.

In card making, neutral colors can always deliver beautiful masculine cards with an elegant style.  Take a look at this way-back-when video that inspired this card.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • The wrapped Burlap Ribbon  on the makeover provides a good alternative for easy mailing.
  • An Embossing Buddy was brushed over the Basic Black card stock before embossing.
  • The Burlap Ribbon was cut just long enough to wrap around the sides of the Basic Black card stock and secured with Glue Dots.
  • Stampin' Up! no longer carries the Craft and Paper Scissors.  Still a good idea to dedicate some scissors for exclusively cutting ribbon/fabric.

Video Recording of LIVE Periscope Broadcast with a Going Global Masculine Card

Stampin-up-masculine-card-going-global-video-periscopeWhat inspired me to create this Going Global Masculine Card LIVE on Periscope earlier, I do not know!

And, although, it's pretty raw footage with lots of uh's in my verbage (sorry Y'all!), it was fun being able to interact with those that were watching.  The input given was very helpful with the suggestion for the finishing touch for the card!

If you're not familiar with Periscope, it's a app for iOS and Android phones that enables you to record and/ or watch LIVE video from all over the world.

Anyway, if you're brave ;), take a look at the recording of this creative process below.  You may also find it HERE on You Tube.
