Stampin' Up! Masculine Birthday Card

I've enjoyed a few days off to celebrate Christmas and spend precious time with my family.  Our daughters and their husband were in town and we shared love and laughter for two full days.  Look for some MDS2 pages soon!

 

Once again, I'm back at my craft table that is 'clean' for the first time in a MONTHS!  Felt so good to put ink to paper to create this card for my dad whose birthday is in January!

With the Holiday Catalog expiring in a little over a week, I decided to use some of my favorite products, the Orchard Harvest DSP and the Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock.  These products as well as that beautiful Brushed Bronze Button will no longer be available after January 2, 2013.

Taking a little break from Stampin' Up! holiday/Halloween projects and sharing this birthday card I created for a friend using the Stampin' Up! You're Amazing set (wood, clear) and the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper.
You just can't beat this combo for spectacular birthday cards of all ages and for either gender.  The colors and images are cheery and bold with a carnival flair.  This  has been my go-to combo for many birthday cards for family and friends.

Happy World Card Making Day! A Perfectly Preserved Birthday and a Masculine Card

Happy World Card Making Day!  Hope you are able to celebrate by carving out some time to create!
Today, I'm sharing a birthday card created with that super fun and trendy set from the Holiday Catalog, Perfectly Preserved (wood, clear).And, it's just so much fun to have the coordinating Cannery Framelits so be sure and check out the bundles
(includes stamp set and framelets) in wood and clear mount and save 15%! 

This set is so versatile and canning jars are the rage for holding yummy homemade goodies, as gift packaging, as candle holders, as vases,and so much more!

I think this sprinkling of flowers is so cute and the colors in the Orchard Harvest DSP so bright and cheery! The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners (wood, clear) and the border on the Island Indigo strip was stamped with the edge of the Etruscan Elegance wheel that I converted into a stamp as seen HERE. Use it ALL THE TIME!

The leaves on this card were stamped and then embossed in black on Watercolor Paper then colored with markers.  Made for a nice masculine card for my husband. :)
Love making him cards since he always goes on and on about how much he likes them.  He's the best!

Isn't it awesome that we card makers have a day designated to celebrate our craft? 

October 6, 2012 is World Card Making Day and in celebration, I'll be sharing some new creations and some of my favorites from my archives.  A walk down memory lane...join me!

First, about today's new card pictured above...

I created this card for a member of my ink and inspirations Team.  The Orchard Harvest DSP provides a colorful, faux cross-stitch background.  (Do you cross stitch?  For years, I had cross stitch mania!)  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the You're Amazing-wood,clear set that has all those fun circus themed images...love it!  I colored my Basic Rhinestones with a dark pink Sharpie and used some of the Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon and 3/8" stitched satin as a backdrop.

Now for the blast to the past...

This birthday card could be either for a guy or gal and I used a decor stencil (discontinued product) for the focal point.  I loved this designer paper!  It was Night and Day and was in one of our mini catalogs, I believe, for Halloween!  But, it was so versatile!  I used it all the time!

Glad to be back with you today!  Technical difficulties prevented me from sharing this Stampin' Up! Masculine Card in Midnight Muse yesterday.  I was a little frustrated :/.

Midnight Muse, one of the 2012-2014 In Colors, is a beautiful shade and perfect for manly cards.  And, the stitched satin ribbon seen here in all of these latest In Color shade are part of Stampin' Up!'s current Back to Spool Promotion...a FREE spool of ribbon ($8.95 Value) with each $40 in product purchase!  Gotta love that!

Core'dinations card stock in Early Espresso and the Natural Compositions Specialty Paper were my first pick of products for these designs.  In the card above, you see banners, ribbon, a button, texture, neutrals, and a hint of blue ...Midnight Muse.

Stampin' Up! Masculine Style Back to School Gift

Back-to-School Masculine Gift for Teachers

Back to school time, right?  So, I wanted to share a masculine project and here are two little notebooks created from the Natural Compostion Specialty Paper, Friendship Preserves (wood, clear) stamp set, and a bit of the Core'dinations card stock.

I used Soft Suede and Early Espresso ink to sponge the covers and embellished with some banner pieces from the First Edition Specialty Paper and Neutrals Patterns Designer Paper Stack.

The size of the notebooks were determined according to the size of the paper I began working with. I just pulled some paper from my printer, measured the "book covers" and cut my paper accordingly so that it folded in half to fit inside.  The stars were hand sketched then cut out of the Core'dinations card stock to provide a little interest over top of the banner pieces.

Stampin' Up! Father's Day Card Idea

So, Father's Day is this Sunday and you need a quick and easy card idea?  Here's a Stampin' Up! card you'll have done in a few minutes and then you can spend your time writing a heart-felt message inside!

 

1. Card base is 4 1/4 x 11 in Naturals White card stock.
2. Neutrals Patterns Designer Paper Stack provides the backdrop. Use paper that you have and cut into 3 strips of 1 1/4 x 5 1/4. Adhere to base.
3. Tie a coordinating ribbon or twine around the lower front.
4. Punch or die cut a background in coordinating color if card stock and sponge around the edges.  Here I used the fabulous, new Apothecary Accents Framelits.
5. Stamp sentiment, punch, and adhere to background piece.  Don't have a Father's Day sentiment?  How about a Just for You, With Love, Thinking of You...or use a marker and write your greeting!  How special and what a personal touch!
