It's about time to start on graduation cards and the retiring Stampin' Up! Word Play had a great sentiment/image for a clean and simple card. Watch today's video tutorial to see how a couple of ideas to kick it up a notch!
This Established Elegance image(wood, clear) makes a great focal point for a masculine card. The simple color combo of Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla let the elements really pop!
Can masculine cards contain Stampin' Up! embellishments typically thought as strictly feminine? Well, of course!
With the right combination of color and neutrals, you can definitely pull this off. And, I'll tell you another secret...as long as the sentiment is one that will give a little tug to their heart strings, it will be perfect. Sure, some guys won't admit it, but most of them appreciate a little touch of pretty-ness...especially from their honey.
I'd love to show you more ways to use products and stamp sets that you have on hand to design something unique and well, manly. ;)

Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration is just around the corner and today's masculine card gives a peek at one of the stamp sets you can earn for FREE, Feeling Sentimental.

I've enjoyed a few days off to celebrate Christmas and spend precious time with my family. Our daughters and their husband were in town and we shared love and laughter for two full days. Look for some MDS2 pages soon!
Once again, I'm back at my craft table that is 'clean' for the first time in a MONTHS! Felt so good to put ink to paper to create this card for my dad whose birthday is in January!
With the Holiday Catalog expiring in a little over a week, I decided to use some of my favorite products, theOrchard Harvest DSPand the Early Espresso Core'dinationsCard Stock. These products as well as that beautiful Brushed Bronze Button will no longer be available after January 2, 2013.
The birthday sentiment is from Memorable Moments (wood, clear) and the wonderful embossed impression is from the WoodgrainTIEF (Textured Impressions Embossing Folder) that will still be available after January 2, 2013!
I'm always looking for new ways to use my Stampin' Up! products and stamp sets that I have on hand to design something unique and manly.

Taking a little break from Stampin' Up! holiday/Halloween projects and sharing this birthday card I created for a friend using the Stampin' Up! You're Amazing set (wood, clear) and the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. You just can't beat this combo for spectacular birthday cards of all ages and for either gender. The colors and images are cheery and bold with a carnival flair. This has been my go-to combo for many birthday cards for family and friends.

Happy World Card Making Day! Hope you are able to celebrate by carving out some time to create! Today, I'm sharing a birthday card created with that super fun and trendy set from the Holiday Catalog, Perfectly Preserved (wood, clear). And, it's just so much fun to have the coordinating Cannery Framelits so be sure and check out the bundles (includes stamp set and framelets) in wood and clear mount and save 15%!
This set is so versatile and canning jars are the rage for holding yummy homemade goodies, as gift packaging, as candle holders, as vases, and so much more!
I think this sprinkling of flowers is so cute and the colors in the Orchard Harvest DSP so bright and cheery! The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners (wood, clear) and the border on the Island Indigo strip was stamped with the edge of the Etruscan Elegance wheel that I converted into a stamp as seen HERE. Use it ALL THE TIME!
Another card from the archives using Lovely As A Tree (wood, clear)...
Stampin' Up! Lovely As A Tree Masculine Birthday Card
The leaves on this card were stamped and then embossed in black on Watercolor Paper then colored with markers. Made for a nice masculine card for my husband. :) Love making him cards since he always goes on and on about how much he likes them. He's the best!
Isn't it awesome that we card makers have a day designated to celebrate our craft?
October 6, 2012 is World Card Making Day and in celebration, I'll be sharing some new creations and some of my favorites from my archives. A walk down memory lane...join me!
This birthday card could be either for a guy or gal and I used a decor stencil (discontinued product) for the focal point. I loved this designer paper! It was Night and Day and was in one of our mini catalogs, I believe, for Halloween! But, it was so versatile! I used it all the time!
Be sure to visit my Facebook page where I'll be posting other cards from the past! Have a great day and create a card to share with someone special!
Glad to be back with you today! Technical difficulties prevented me from sharing this Stampin' Up! Masculine Card in Midnight Muse yesterday. I was a little frustrated :/.
Midnight Muse, one of the 2012-2014 In Colors, is a beautiful shade and perfect for manly cards. And, the stitched satin ribbon seen here in all of these latest In Color shade are part of Stampin' Up!'s current Back to Spool Promotion...a FREE spool of ribbon ($8.95 Value) with each $40 in product purchase! Gotta love that!
Today, I have a couple of cards to share for you...a transformation of sorts. I wanted to take a card with a feminine flair and take the same supplies and transform it to a card with a masculine feel.
In the masculine card below, you see banners, ribbon, a button, a different texture, neutrals, and a hint of blue. Just a little switcheroo of placement...
Stampin' Up! Masculine Card
Here's a close up so you can see the ribbon tucked behind the little banner piece...

You can use the same supplies for both masculine and feminine cards. Give it a try!
Challenge yourself to create a masculine and feminine card with the same basic supplies.
A bit of texture with the Woodgrain and Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Folders provide the backdrop; these folders really add pizzazz to hand-made cards.
The Holiday Catalog has some super products to use for the upcoming season and many can be adapted for any time of year.

Stampin' Up! Masculine Card Idea Notice the Etruscan Wheel Image.
Back to school time, right? So, I wanted to share a masculine project and here are two little notebooks created from the Natural Compostion Specialty Paper,Friendship Preserves(wood, clear) stamp set, and a bit of the Core'dinations card stock.
The size of the notebooks were determined according to the size of the paper I began working with. I just pulled some paper from my printer, measured the "book covers" and cut my paper accordingly so that it folded in half to fit inside. The stars were hand sketched then cut out of the Core'dinations card stock to provide a little interest over top of the banner pieces.
Bundled Masculine Gift Set of two Notebooks
Tied together with some Linen Thread makes for a nice presentation, don't you think? Let me know if you have questions or need supplies!
Want to discover how easy it is to create masculine cards using your supplies?
The raised glossy images on the Naturals Compostion paper resists the ink when sponging! This really accents the pattern or images.
The color of the Naturals Composition paper is a nice kraft/ neutral and works will most colors. Choose an accent color for sponging for more interest!
Or, I should say, "One more and I'm on the road" after sharing another card using that beautiful Naturals Compostion paper from Stampin' Up! Love this for a masculine birthday card!
I'll be sharing a video tutorial on this ink-y technique on Monday so be sure to tune in!
In the meantime, answer the question below for a chance to win this card! "To whom did you last send or give one of your hand-made cards?"
Comments close Sunday, August 12th at 11:59! Looking forward to hearing from you!
Stampin' Around Etruscan Elegance- To Wheel or Not to Wheel?
Today's masculine card featured one of my favorites from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog; the Stampin' Around Etruscan Elegance Stampin' Around Wheel...well, sort of. ;)
I love the Stampin' Around Wheels! Great for card making and super for rolling an image for a border across a scrapbooking layout. But, sometimes, I just want to use my wheels in a different way. Watch the video tutorial below to see how!

This masculine card sports several new products that are wonderful for your holiday paper crafting projects.

...The Stampin' Sanding System...The Stampin' Sanding Block comes with 4 sheets of sand paper in fine and very fine grit.
Collect stray bits of debris from sanding with the Core'dinations Dust Buddy. This durable and reusable cloth makes the clean up a breeze.
The Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder provides the elegant impression on the leaf.
And, speaking of leaf---I am envisioning so many possibilties for the Autumn Accents Bigz Die!

And, finally, the topped created with the 3 1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon. It's a wonderful accent for paper crafting projects and gift wrapping. It will be available in 3 of my favorite colors...Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and as seen here, Crumb Cake.
