A Day in the Life 2012 and My Digital Studio- If You Build It...

Another step taken in my digital scrapbooking project for 2012, A Day in the Life and My Digital Studio.  I am having a blast with this and love that I am creating memory keeping documentation along the way.

It's already a lot of fun looking back over the pages I've completed.  No rules, no have-to's.  Just using photos snapped from my iPhone and incorporating these into an easy-to-use digital crafting program.

A Day in the Life – My 2012 Project with My Digital Studio

We spend a lot of time in the Ozarks at Roaring River State Park and I was very fortunate (or, should I say, my husband was fortunate) to have someone nearby with a camera when he caught this big Rainbow Trout this past week.   I knew he would love being part of my project so I created this page in a jiffy and I love how it all came together so easily using this super fantastic digital kit. 

It’s like Stampin’ Up! read my mind when developing this kit…easy, cheery, and fun.  (Thanks, SU!)  I am already working on the next page so stay tuned!

Word of the Year

With all the buzz among bloggers, scrapbookers, and paper crafters on Word of the Year, I took pause this week to really think about what my Word of the Year would be.

I was inspired by a photo that I snapped yesterday with my iPhone and how it touched me in a profound way...

STEP

: an action, proceeding, or measure often occurring as one in a series
: a stage in a process
: in harmony or agreement

Now, there are a dozen plus definitions for step according to Merriam-Webster but these, above, spoke to my heart.  Think of all the phrases we hear or say daily with the word step...one step at a time, steps to completion, step by step, right in step, step it up...and many more.  

All indicate process or movement or procedures or growth...life.

And, so it is, that I take this first step in moving forward with a new project.

No stress, no fuss, no rules...because it is to be enjoyed every step of the way. 

A Day in the Life...documenting, recording, preserving fun or meaningful or common every day happenings in my steps through the year.

This will be a digital project using a digital kit and My Digital Studio taking me step by step through the process. 

Seriously, everything I need for my project is in this digital kit. The backgrounds, embellishments --including journaling blocks-- all I need to add  are my photos and journaling and if I feel like stepping it up a bit, other brush stamps in my digital collection.  At the end of the year, I'll upload it to the Stampin' Up! Print Service or just create a digital album. Whatever I feel like the next step should be.

So...I'm just tellin' you right up front...I'll need your help.

If it's been awhile since you've see one of my digital layouts, you'll have to remind me... {gently, please}...Lisa, where the heck is your next step?

That'll keep me accountable. And, just maybe you'd like to join me?

What a surprise, right?!  Another Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio page!  I decided to get a head start on preserving the memory of our family tradition...carving the pumpkin!
Now, I realize there are no pumpkins on this page, but I decided to insert some of my Halloween projects as "place holders" until the actual event takes place and I can insert the actual photos. This way, I am "ahead of the game"! (insert smile here!)

I started with a blank, "design your own", page and added a solid background of Peach Parfait to coordinate with the Pick Your Poison Embellishments 125614 (digital download).  Buttons and bows in Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black add accent to the border strips.
Adding an eerie look to the page are two of the Vintage Overlays 121061 from the brush stamp set. Super cool!

It's about time for a Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio share, don't you agree?  Love the changing colors of fall and I've preserved this beautiful transformation with this page created with My Digital Studio and some elements that are available for purchase as digital downloads.
