Scrapbooking for Clutter Control

Box
Scrapbooking for Clutter Control

Are you like me with quite a few sentimental items stored in boxes in which you can't seem to part?

Enter the world of "sentimental clutter".  Those items from the past that evoke special memories but are left in storage and not of real use to anyone but with which you have strong emotional ties.

In a recent article, on Oregon Live powered by The Oregonian, Pat Jeffries shares what one couple found as a solution to help control the clutter---sentimental scrapbooking.

See how this couple decided to preserve these memories in the article found HERE.

Scrapbooking is a great hobby.  And, now we have yet another reason for why we enjoy it so much!  Who knew it could be such a housekeeping help?

Kristin is a long-distance member of my downline.  A friend of one of my daughter's, she attended a Stampin' Up! party hosted by her.  As a bride to be, Kristin was interested in creating DIY decor and favors for her wedding and reception.  She ordered the supplies necessary for all of her wedding favors and the result was beautiful!

Kristin loved the craft and wanted to become more involved with Stampin' Up!  Now, as a demonstrator, she is enjoying to sharing her love and knowledge of the craft with others.  Kristin works full time in the medical field and is able to enjoy the flexibility of being a Stampin' Up! Stampin' Up! Fabric for a Decorative Card Keeper

My youngest daughter and her husband will be moving soon so I wanted to create a special box to hold the cards that I make for them to give to friends and family.  This box was the Card Keeper Box that was on the Clearance Rack a while back and I was fortunate to get several to make for family members and one for me!  And, even though these boxes are no longer available, you could use a photo box available at most craft stores.

Here's a view of the front:

I used some of our Stampin' Up! Punches to make the box label in the front.  The lid is covered with Stampin' Up! Fabric from the Timeless Portrait Collection, It was adhered to the top using the Big Shot Fabric Adhesive Roll.

On the dividers, I stamped the different categories of cards to help with organization.  This particular alphabet is retired but there is a really cute one in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog that I have my eye on...Simply Serif Mini Alphabet Wood Mount.

Top View:

To embellish the top, I used some current and retired paper and products.  The flowers were created with the Blossom Punch with some ribbon and tulle as accents.

The are many possibilities for using your crafting products from Stampin' Up!
Try using some of our beautiful fabric on a project.  It adds a rich look and is a great addition to paper craft.

Fourth of July celebrations begin this week with the Brown family and here is a card created with the help of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers that I wanted to share.

I had a specific request from a subscriber over on my You Tube channel and I loved the challenge...especially since I didn't have a Fourth of July or patriotic stamp set to use!

Watch the video to see how I used supplies from my stash to create this card.  If you need any of the supplies, find them HERE in my Online Store where you can shop 24/7!

Special Stampin' Up! Birthday Card from a Friend

Today's Stampin' Up! card idea comes courtesy of a dear friend and local customer, Debbie H.  Debbie created this birthday card for me using some beautiful designer papers from her collection of Stampin' Up! Designer Papers and a silver embossed Paper Doily Sizzlit that provides a regal backdrop!

Sitting center stage is a beautiful bloom like those we made in my recent Flower Power Class in which Debbie was a participant.  I love it when I see my stampers using their wonderful talent to create works of art such as this!

I wish you could all join us when we gather to stamp!  What a stampin' fun time that would be!
But, since that's impossible for many of you, there is still a way you can enjoy discovering new project ideas and techniques from the comfort of your own home.

Stampin' Up! Mixed Bunch and Summer Smooches Card Idea

Stampin' Up! Mixed Bunch and Summer Smooches

Happy Monday! Today I have a card created using Stampin' Up! Summer Smooches DSP and the Mixed Bunch(wood, clear) set.  There is quite an array of product on this one... some retired... so let me just fill you in on a few details.

The heart border was created with the Mini Heart Punch all lined up in Early Espresso.  Little Leaves Sizzlit die cuts provide a pretty and contrasting backdrop to the Blossom Punched stamped image and  the sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers stamp set (wood, clear).

Some of the gone but not forgotten ;) products used here include:

  • The Summer Smooches Fabric Brad (which sold out during the initial sales period...and, fast!)
  • Crop-A-Dile for the punched hole in the tag
  • Tag Corner Punch

It's always fun to mix and blend new products with supplies and tools from your stash.  To add to the new, you can shop 24/7 in the Online Store.

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Tip- Not Just for Paper Craft!

Stampin Up! Every Day Uses

I've had this pair of earrings forever.  Wore them once and lost one of the little stones.  (OK...so I didn't pay much for these!)  Anyway, I really like the earrings but couldn't wear minus a stone. So...

Stampin' Up! Basic Rhinestones to the Rescue!

I used one of the tiny Basic Rhinestones to fill the gap and then colored it with a blue permanent marker to match the "twin"...and, now I'm stylin' in my "new" earrings.

Good as NEW! Thanks to my Stampin' Up! Rhinestones!

Stampin' Up! Father's Day Card Idea

So, Father's Day is this Sunday and you need a quick and easy card idea?  Here's a Stampin' Up! card you'll have done in a few minutes and then you can spend your time writing a heart-felt message inside!

  1. Card base is 4 1/4 x 11 in Naturals White card stock.
  2. Neutrals Patterns Designer Paper Stack provides the backdrop. Use paper that you have and cut into 3 strips of 1 1/4 x 5 1/4. Adhere to base.
  3. Tie a coordinating ribbon or twine around the lower front.
  4. Punch or die cut a background in coordinating color if card stock and sponge around the edges.  Here I used the fabulous, new Apothecary Accents Framelits.
  5. Stamp sentiment, punch, and adhere to background piece.  Don't have a Father's Day sentiment?  How about a Just for You, With Love, Thinking of You...or use a marker and write your greeting!  How special and what a personal touch!
