Stampin' Up! Video Tutorial Toxic Treats Halloween Card and Framelits Tip

Stampin' Up! Toxic Treats Halloween Cards

Don't you love the pretty shape of these Toxic Treats Halloween Cards Stampin' Up! has some beautifully shaped Framelits, of which I have several, and I wanted to try creating a card base using one of these as the base.

Well...as you can see, I did create three cards and that's what I'd like to talk to you about.  Here's the first one with a Basic Black card stock base.  I used Whisper White craft ink for stamping on the black.

Then, I decided to try it again; this time with a Crumb Cake card stock base...

Really like this one with the Scalloped Tulle bow at the top.
But, it was really tough to roll two layers of card stock with the framelits through my Big Shot.
Recommended use is one layer but I tried it with two...twice!

So, I felt compelled to record this video with my reasons for not wanting to try it again and also suggest an alternative for you to get the same look.  Watch below...

Scrapbooking Life's Moments; One Step at Time

{sigh}  I'd been a little down on myself for falling behind (is there such a thing??) on my 2012 Digital Scrapbooking Project.  But, I had stated before, there are really no rules when you are telling the stories of your life.  No one can share the feeling, the experience, the laughter or tears like you can.

So, I am picking up again with a page that shares a moment from my every day.

Stampin' Up! Lovely Little Labels and Fan Fair Thank You Card

Stampin' Up! Fan Fair and Lovely Little Labels
Thank You Card

Today's card is a "thank you" that I made for a friend using the beautiful Fan Fair Designer Series Paper (126918) and the Lovely Little Labels(126260-wood, 126262-clear) set.  That Little Labels Punch Pack(126881) is adorable and compliments this set perfectly!

The main image is one of several that can be found on one of the sheets in the designer paper pack.  Just a little trimming with my Paper Snips(103579) was all I needed for this main image with a sweet sentiment.

I usually send my card with the message written on a post it note inside so that the recipient can use it to send if they wish.  The card is then a greeting and a gift!  The recipient of this card sent a sweet message to me that said she wanted to keep it for herself.  Ah...the power of a card!

inklings:

  • The heart is created with the Full Heart (119883)punched from the Natural Compositions Specialty Paper(126917) and sponged with Riding Hood Red ink(126968).
  • The little banners were created with the Bitty Banners Framelits(129267) cut in half.  Holes were punched with our hand held hole punch and strung together with Linen Thread (104199).
  • Anchoring this mini banner are the Designer Vintage Faceted Buttons(127555) along with help of some Glue Dots (103683).

Stampin' Up! Quick and Easy Greetings of the Season Christmas Card and Video Tutorial- Tying Bows on Cards

Greetings of the Season Christmas Card

The clean and simple lines of this Stampin' Up! Christmas card make it perfect for "mass production".  The prep work involves some cutting and simple stamping  but if you break it down step-by-step...cutting, stamping, assembly...it would be easily reproduced in a manageable amount of time.

Here are the details long with a video tutorial on how I tie bows on cards.  I realize this may not be the easiest way for everyone but I was asked by one of my You Tube viewers for the how-to.  :)

Stampin' Up! Toxic Treats Halloween Idea-Trash to Treasure

Packing-paper
From this....

This is a photo of some of the packing paper that comes in my Stampin' Up! boxes.  I have seen others use this paper for projects so I decided to give it a whirl.

I decided to put my sewing machine to use and make some little treat bags with the Etruscan Elegance Stampin' Around Wheel and Toxic Treats (wood, clear) stamp set.

Stampin up toxic treats bag
To this...Stampin' Up! Toxic Treats Halloween

Isn't that too cool?!  I was really pleased with how it turned out...and, best of all, I have a ton of this stuff...well, not a ton, but--you know.
I started with a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece and stitched about 1/2 inch from the edges.  It turned out to be a little "taller" than I wanted so I trimmed about an inch off the top.

Labels Framelits were used to cut the stamped image and the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper.  A Brights Old Olive Button and Basic Black Narrow Taffeta Ribbon provode the accents.

inklings:

  • I had the best results  with a long straight stitch.  Too small of a stitch looked like a perforation.
  • The packing paper is a bit "wrinkled" but since I was going to cinch it at the top, I didn't worry about that.
  • The stamping on the bag really made a difference and provided a nice backdrop for the bag.
  • I used my Color Spritzer Tool to add an Old Olive splatter effect to the tag.

Stampin' Up! ink and inspirations Team - Guest Stamper, Kristin H.

Today I wanted to share a project created by one of my awesome downline members, Kristin H.  Kristin joined my team of demonstrators about a year ago and always wows me with her projects!

Take a look at this beautiful journal she shared with me...

KristinH stampin up journal
Stampin' Up! Journal -Kristin H

Isn't it absolutely gorgeous?

She used her Big Shot dies and framelits to create those beautiful accent pieces.  The designer paper and background stamp are from the 2012 Sale-A-Bration promotion and her monogram from the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set (wood, clear).

Wonderful work, Kristin!  Thank you for sharing!

Kristin is one of four of my team members who promoted to Senior Associate during this past year and because of their achievements, I was honored with this yearly award!  I was so excited!
