Happy International Working Women's Day!

Apron-lady-GraphicsFairy2
International Working Women's Day

Woo hoo!  Let's celebrate all women who work every day!  Whether at home or away, women work to provide care, love, support, and/or income for our families!

We work hard and hopefully, find some time to play, too.  Many of us look for ways to contribute to our family's income and have time to enjoy life with family.  That can be difficult.

Flexibility is the key and I've found that as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  To be able to work when I want and where I want has been perfect for this stage of my life!  Although our daughters are on their own, I still love being able to share in their lives, travel with my husband, spend time with my parents...all those aspects of life that really matter.

If you're looking for this type of flexibilty, email me at lisa@inkandinspirations.com or call me with any questions you have about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  I promise; there will be no pressure or obligation.  I'll just share the information and answer any questions.

No risk, no obligation.

To the working woman in all of us...cheers!

Stampin' Up! Postage Due Birthday Card

Stampin' Up! Postage Due Birthday Card

We celebrated my Mom's 81st birthday yesterday and here's her birthday card made with the Postage Due set(wood, clear) and Fan Fair Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!  The Happiest Birthday sentiment is from the Apothecary Art set (wood, clear) and fits in nicely with the other images.

My mother was born in 1932 so the Eiffel Tower stamp image is perfect for her birthday card! And, I love that I able to cut out the image of a postal envelope from the Fan Fair collection.

Here we are together before her birthday celebration lunch!

New Stampin' Up! Photopolymer Stamp Set Designer Type

Woot!  Stampin' Up! has just released it's very first Photopolymer Stamp Set, Designer Type! (132956) I kid you not!...Just YESTERDAY, I was wishing that I had a cute little "call out" bubble for a sentiment on a card I was making!

The Stampin' Up! angels heard me. ;)

Here's the official word from Stampin' Up!:

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it.
We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers.
Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other!
Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.

What makes them so great?

  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. Will not yellow or cloud up over time.
  • They use FDA, food-safe material. How far can you stretch your stamping creativity?
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.

132956 Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp Set...... $13.95

             (Recommend clear blocks A, B, G, F, and I. Purchase separately.)

inklings:

  • Photopolymer stamps will be offered on a trial basis. Based on popularity, we hope to release more photopolymer stamp sets over the coming months. At this time we don't plan on offering a line of photopolymer sets as expansive as our wood-mount and clear-mount lines.
  • All photopolymer stamps will be packaged in cello bag w/insert but you can store them in our clear cases.
  • Q: How long will each stamp set that's released be available for purchase?
A: Since this product line is being offered on a trial basis and is not currently included in our catalog, we won't have a standard amount of time that each set is offered. Available while supplies last.

Read Across America Day 2013

Today is Read Across America Day in the U.S....a day to promote reading especially for children and young adults.   This nationwide observance coincides with the anniversary of the birth of Theodor Geisel aka Dr. Seuss, a well known and loved author of children's books.

To celebrate this day and in loving memory of Dr. Seuss, I've composed a Seuss-like poem entitled, "Oh, the Wonderful Things Mrs. Brown Can Do! ;)

Oh, the wonderful things Mrs. Brown can do,
She’s a Stampin’ Up! Demo
And, you can be one, too.
Mrs. Brown can do it.
How about you?

She can cut with scissors.
Mrs. Brown can “snip”
How about you?
Can you go snip, snip?

She can stamp with rubber
She can go “tap, tap”.
She can cheer you on
She can go “clap, clap”.

She can go “swish, swish”
With Stampin’ Spritzers, yes indeed.
She can help with techniques
And, other paper crafting needs.

Mrs. Brown’s an SU Demo
Mrs. Brown loves it through and through.
Mrs. Brown’s an SU! Demo,
And, you can be one, too!

Thank you, Dr. Seuss, for the inspiration! ;)

And, I have to include my favorite from Dr. Seuss!...
