Stampin' Up! Fringe Flower on a Handmade Card

A You Tube viewer posted a question regarding the fringe flowers in a Stampin' Up! video tutorial posted previously. 

The question from Janis is "how to use these fringe flowers on handmade cards" since the base of the flower is rather large.

As a result of several trials, here's a solution in the video tutorial below that may be helpful when using these beautiful blooms created with Stampin' Up! Fringe Scissors on your handmade cards.

The Life in the Forest stamp set (wood, clear) from Stampin' Up! is so cute so I had to get busy and use the bunny from the set for my 3D project and video tutorial this week.

This Easter project goes together quickly with relatively few supplies.  Other than  some Stampin' Up! paper crafting supplies, you'll need 8-10 inches of craft wire.

Stampin' Up! Video Tutorial

While working on different ideas for DIY wedding favors, I decided to pull out my Envelope Punch Board (133774).  The plan was to use silver wrapped chocolate nuggets so the wrap needed to be small but also really cute!  

These tiny envelope wraps started out as a 2 3/4" square of Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper (132993). The colors in this collection are beautiful and perfect for spring and Easter but would also work with solid card stock and ribbon to match any DIY brides wedding decor.

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I enjoy the luxury of working from home (or, wherever I am!) and flexible hours.  Yesterday morning, I decided to work a bit and "the hubs" was up and out the door early to see what treasures he could find at local flea markets and yard sales.  Although there was a temporary regretful feeling for not joining him, it quickly subsided when I emersed myself in "working" on something I love.

Within an hour, he surprised me with a couple of finds!  Take a look:

The top of the easel opens for storage.  There is a chalk board on one side and white board on the other as seen in the photo. Neither is in great shape.

DIY Card Making- Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolor

DIY Card making is a fun way to express your creative side and share a bit of happiness and love with others.  Try this idea using the Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolor set (wood, clear). Making two of the same style at once is a time saver!  One to send now and one for later!

inklings:

• The card bases were made from a left over piece of another project measuring at 5 x 7 each and scored in the middle at 3 1/2.
• Happy Watercolor DSP provided the back drop...2 strips cut at 5 x 1 1/2.
• The bottom strip was stamped and embossed with the floral stem from the Happy Watercolor set.
• A cut piece of Tea Lace Doilies was adhered at the "seam" of the two dsp pieces to add as a backdrop for the main image. 
• Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon creates the border along the "seam".
• The large bloom from Happy Watercolor set was stamped and embossed on Watercolor paper, colored with ink and an Aqua Painter then punched with a 1 3/4 Circle Punch.
• A complimentary piece of the DSP was punched with the Decorative Label punch.
• Both punched pieces were sponged around the edges with a coordinating ink color and mounted on the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
• The "hi" sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set "Banner Blast" and punched with the Sale-A-Bration Banner punch.

Stampin' Up! Mini Easter Basket 2014

It's time to start your spring creations so here's a video tutorial for my first Easter project for 2014...a cute, mini Easter basket!

This Easter basket is created with the Petite Purse die from Stampin' Up! Actually, it's what I like to call the Petite Purse Reversed also seen here in one of my Stampin' Up! video tutorials from 2013.

It's an easy Easter project to create and with just a couple of alterations, your Petite Purse becomes a basket!

It's been a busy weekend in the life of this Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

Church activities, stamp club prep, and a day long Valentine date on Friday have all blessed my life!

On Friday, the "hubs" took me out to eat for breakfast, lunch, and supper!  We saw a movie and he even took me to a local craft store so that I could browse and get ideas for upcoming projects. That's my valentine!

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree Card Idea

Whenever I need to create a handmade card and I have a block about what to use or how to create, I have a tried and true Stampin' Up! stamp set that never lets me down...Lovely As A Tree.

This set has been in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog for years and is probably the most versatile set I own. It can work for any occasion including "Praying for You" cards and sympathy cards.  (The sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers (wood, clear). And, I can't tell you how many Christmas cards I've made using this set.

So, if you need one set that is going to be a "go-to" tool that can work for anything with a change of the sentiment, go with the tried and true Lovely as a Tree stamp set from Stampin' Up! found here in the online store in both wood mount and clear mount.

Stampin' Up! Valentine Card Idea

Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day and sharing a final Stampin' Up! Valentine card idea for 2014!

This card features the dip dyed look using strips of card stock rather than ink. The card is a top fold measuring 4 1/4" and 5 1/2". The strips of card stock measure 1" x 4 1/4". The strips were placed on the card front before adhering to get spacing.  The top and  bottom strips were adhered first and the three other strips were spaced in beween.  The card front was run through the Texture Boutique to tie it all together with an all over texture.

The focal point consists of Hearts A Flutter images and framelits and a "love you" sentiment from a past My Paper Pumpkin kit.
