Stampin' Up! Masculine Valentine Card Idea

Welcome to Valentine Week on ink and inspirations where today we have a Stampin' Up! masculine Valentine card idea and video tutorial.

You'll notice that this is a hand-made card of clean and simple design which is quite different from my usual style. The focal point here is the hand stitching with Linen Thread along with the simple "YOU + ME" sentiment on the heart from the Hip Notes set (wood, clear) from the Occasions Catalog.

It's a subtle message for someone special on Valentine's Day.

Want a Great Stampin' Up! Card Idea?

Stampin' Up! Card Idea with Starburst Sayings

The Starburst Sayings Bundle (wood, clear) from Stampin' Up! is a great set for handmade cards AND scrapbooking!

I have to admit that when I first saw the set in the Occasions Catalog, it didn't jump out at me..AT ALL!  Then, I went to Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference and saw all the wonderful samples and I fell in love with it!

It's a lot of fun to layer the different sizes of starbursts in an abstract way.  That technique is sure to give your cards and scrapbook pages a distinct look.  Use dimensional adhesive to give a "pop" and 3D look.

The How Much? and What if? of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators

When I speak with someone about the Stampin' Up! business opportunity, the How Much? and What If? questions are usually part of the conversation.

  1. How much does it cost to join Stampin' Up!?
The Starter Kit is $99 plus your applicable sales tax... shipping is free.
    That's it.

  2. How much do you get in the Starter Kit?
Included in the Starter Kit are Stampin' Up! products of your choosing totaling up to $125.  (During Sale-A-Bration 2014, you get to choose an additional $25 pushing that total up to $150)
The kit also includes a business supply pack with order forms, catalogs, etc. valued at $65.

  3.  How much do you have to sell to be a demonstrator?
Good question!  Minimum sales requirement is $300 a quarter.  The $300 includes what you purchase for yourself plus what others purchase from you.

Think about it this way...if you have two parties/workshops at $150 in sales  every three months (a quarter), you'll meet your minimum requirement in sales.

  4. What if I don't make the $300 in sales?

First,as your upline, I will contact you to answer questions or offer suggestions.
If you are under your $300 at the end of the quarter, you'll go into Pending Status for one month.  During the month, you'll have the opportunity to make up the difference for what you lacked in the $300 total for the previous quarter.
...So say you made $250 in sales for the quarter- you'll need to have at least $50 in sales during the first month of the next quarter. If you exceed that $50 in that first month, it will go toward the $300 for that quarter.

  5. What if I am unable to make up sales needed while in Pending Status that first month?

Then at the month's end, you will no longer have demonstrator status.  That's all that happens.  You do not have return Starter Kit, Stampin' Up! does not call, there is no hassle. Period.

  6. What if I'm a beginning stamper and don't know everything about stamping and paper crafting?

Honey, no one knows EVERYTHING...we all start somewhere!  I had been stamping for a few weeks when I signed up. True story.

These are just a few of the questions I receive but are all EXCELLENT questions and I love answering them.

So, if you have been thinking about joining Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator...ask away?  I will be happy to discuss it with you.

And, if you've read this far, I KNOW you've thought about it and I would love to mentor you gently as you make your demonstrator-ship what YOU want it to be!

Let's get started, shall we?  Questions, anyone?

E-mail me today and let's talk about you as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

Punxsutawney Phil and Groundhog Day 2014

Groundhog-day
Graphic courtesy of groundhog.org

Not to be overshadowed ;) by the Super Bowl, it's important that we give ole Punxsutawney Phil his time in the limelight on Groundhog Day.

At the time of this writing, Phil's prediction is still a mystery.  Will be see his shadow which will result in the forecast of six more weeks of winter?  (Perish the thought!)

Now, just for fun, a bit of background and some answers to FAQ about Punxsutautawney Phil and his day from groundhog.org:

1. Punxsutawney Phil is the only true weather forecasting groundhog. The others are just imposters.

2. There has been only one Punxsutawney Phil. Punxsutawney Phil gets his longevity from drinking "groundhog punch" (a secret recipe). One sip, which is administered every summer at the Groundhog Picnic, gives him seven more years of life.

3. On February 2nd, Phil comes out of his burrow on Gobbler's Knob, in front of thousands of faithful followers from all over the world, to predict the weather for the rest of the winter.

4. According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.

5. No, Punxsutawney Phil's forecasts are not made in advance by the Inner Circle. After Phil emerges from his burrow on February 2nd, he speaks to the Groundhog Club President in Groundhogese. His proclamation is then translated for the world.

Read more here...

Hats off to Punxsutawney Phil... whatever the prediction! And, speaking of predictions...Broncos or Seahawks???
