Stampin' Up! Video Tutorial Mixed Media Card Idea

Mixed Media is a popular crafting trend so here's a card idea video tutorial mixing this fun art form with products from Stampin' Up!

I asked my friend, Alicia, to design a mixed media card front for our local stamp club using our Stampin' Up! products.  We had fun working with our supplies in a different way!

Watch the video tutorial below to view the progression of my mixed media card using Stampin' Up! supplies.  It's also available HERE on my You Tube channel with more than 300 paper crafting and rubber stamping video tutorials.

Thank you for watching my video tutorial on mixed media with Stampin' Up! and let me know if you'd like to see more!

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Life at Home: A Great Team

There's a lot to be said for the power of a team.  A team is any group of two or more that pulls together for a common good or purpose.

I have the privilege with working with a fantastic group of ladies on the ink and inspirations team.  These ladies support, encourage, and share with one another and each runs their own business or demonstratorship in their own way.

I'd like to share some of their awesome work with you today!

Here's a precious card made by Pamela with a fence created with the Hardwood stamp from the Occasions Catalog.

National Craft Month Musings

With the close of National Craft Month, I wanted to share a bit on my crafting journey through the years.  Crafting has enriched my life; no doubt about that.  So, if you'll give me a bit of your time, I'll share a bit of my crafting history.

  1. Scrapbooking...I kept scrapbooks in my elementary school years saving classmates' photos, newspaper clippings, report cards, etc.  There was lapse for quite a few years and picked it back up about 10 years ago.  It was with my renewed interest in scrapbooking that led me to Stampin' Up!
  2. Sewing...My mother made many of my clothes as I was growing up and so I always was fascinated the process of pattern to fabric to apparel.  I took Home Economics in 9th grade and learned all the fundamentals of sewing.  When I was in high school, my parents gave me a portable Singer sewing maching (a Genie) for Christmas.  It was the. best. material. gift. I ever received.  I made many of my clothes from the time I was 18 and married until our first daughter was born five years later.  I still use my seamstress/sewing skills and love the process of going from pattern to completion.
  3. Stenciling- For a while I enjoyed stenciling on fabric and wood items.  I found it limiting so this mode of crafting was short lived.
  4. Candlewicking- With my love for needle/thread/fabric, a close friend introduced me to candlewicking.  It was fun and soothing to create a series of knots to form a pattern.
  5. Embroidery- Nothing elaborate...it was an extension of candlewicking.
  6. Counted Cross Stitch-  Loved it!  I was obsessed making one project after another.  I still have many of my counted cross stitch patterns and books.  But, once I was done; that was it!  Not something I'm likely to pick up again.
  7. Quilting- I made a baby quilt and full size patchwork quilt for our daughter's bed. These projects combined several types of crafting...sewing, stenciling, embroidery.  Lots of love in these.
  8. Rubber Stamping and Paper Crafting- Need I say more?  This craft, like sewing, is here to stay.  I mean, we'll always need cards!  And, I plan to continue to share with all of you!

Thank you for taking this trip down memory lane with me.  I'd love to hear all the different crafts that have touched your life.  Please share with us here in the comment section.

Happy National Craft Month to all of us!
