New Stampin' Up! Photopolymer Set-Endless Birthday Wishes

Endless-birthday-wishes-137553
New Stampin' Up! Photopolymer Set

This is the adorable new birthday greetings photopolymer set from Stampin' Up! called Endless Birthday Wishes. (137553)  The easy placement of our clear photopolymer stamps provides ease in creating phrases.  Combine these words and phrases for birthday greetings and more!

Here's what the stamp designer and Stampin' Up! concept artist, Jen C. has to say:

Working for Stampin’ Up! is an incredible experience. There are so many great opportunities—such as the chance to design stamp sets. Our employees and demonstrators have accepted me into the Stampin’ Up! family and have embraced my unique skills and abilities. I’m continually growing as a person and an artist. I feel blessed to be a part of something so amazing!

I’m excited to share our newest photopolymer set, Endless Birthday Wishes (Item# 137553), which includes some of my handwritten words and drawings. It’s similar to the set we offered for the holidays last year called Endless Wishes. The concept is that you can build lots of different birthday greetings (and more) by combining the handwritten words with typed words and phrases. And with photopolymer stamps, grouping words and phrases together is simple.

Mother's Day Gift to Myself-April Paper Pumpkin

Stampin-up-mothers-day
April Paper Pumpkin for Mother's Day

When I saw the frame in the April Paper Pumpkin Kit, I knew exactly what I would do with it and created a Mother's Day gift for myself!

The photo is one of my most favorites of our two girls taken on the day our youngest was brought home from the hospital. These two have been best friends ever since.

I have always wanted a special keepsake frame for this picture so I decided to take the Paper Pumpkin kit and change it up a bit.  I thought the sentiment "happy together" was a perfect caption.  It was die cut with the new Project Life framelits. The embellishments are not permanently attached to the frame to allow for change  to match decor or seasons. The newsprint banner piece from the kit is adhesive backed and the twill bow is attached with a Glue Dot.

There are several more fun items in the Paper Pumpkin Kit that I'll be sure to use on other projects.  Have you taken the Paper Pumpkin Plunge?  There are now several subscription options and beginning in June, your first kit will begin with the current month's kit.  That is super cool...you'll won't miss out on a seasonal or holiday kit on the month you join!

Paper Pumpkin makes a perfect gift...It's the gift that keeps on giving!

Stampin' Up! Anniversary Card Idea with Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper

Stampin' Up! Retro Fresh Anniversary Card

Do you ever find yourself holding on to your Stampin' Up! designer paper instead of using it for all those card ideas that are floating around in your head?

That's the case for me with the Stampin' Up! Retro Fresh DSP with the trendy arrows that are so fun!  Making this anniversary card for our oldest daughter and her husband boosted me out of my "hoarding" mode since she loves this paper.
Can you spot the trends in these hair ties that she makes?
Aren't these adorable?

While the inspiration for this card came from her love of this particular paper collection, the design was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.  Loved having that for a staring point!

A quick...(and, late) share with a Stampin' Up! Geometrical card idea that I made a few months ago!

Our youngest daughter loves green so I made this card for her birthday and she loved it!  The Hooray for Today is white embossed on Pistachio Pudding and cut with Oval Framelits.

The fringed layers, courtesy of Stampin' Up! Fringe Scissors, are cut formed by cutting 1" strips of shades of greenish tones.

Stampin' Up! Mixed Media Book Cover

Our daughter created a book of love for her husband's 30th birthday and when she asked me to create the cover, I knew that Mixed Media techniques with Stampin' Up! supplies was the way to go!

Since he has received his book of compliled letters of love from family and friends on Friday, I wanted to share the basic mixed media process in pictures.

Stampin' Up! Mixed Media Process 1

First, I cut two pieces of chipboard from packages of Glimmer Paper to 9 x 12 and gave it two good coats of gesso.

Stampin' Up! Mixed Media 2

Made my own texture paste with recipe found online. (Leave a comment if you want the recipe!)

Added texture with stencils made courtesy of my downline, Catherine, and Stampin' Up! MDS images, Window Sheets, and her Cameo ecutter!

Literal cutting and pasting of the words "you are loved" from the retired Expressions Thinlets ---may still be on the Clearance Rack for $14.99!

Glued punched shapes, dry embossing, and title for more texture.

Applied another two coats of texture...let dry.

Added more punched shapes and textures.

Another coat of gesso!

Lots of spray color with Stampin' Up! Stampin' Spritzers, ink refills, and rubbing alcohol mixture. Several coats were applied to get the desired intensity.  I had to be really patient to let it dry between coats!

Added sponging of Early Espresso ink to add a more masculine feel.

Using Stampin' Up! Encore Gold Ink to highlight the title and other textures. Just call me "Goldfinger".  :)

Stampin' Up! Mixed Media Cover
Stampin' Up! Mixed Media Cover

Here's the completed cover that I mailed to our daughter.  The back cover was the same without as much texturing details.  She made it into a 3 ring book with letters of love mounted on coordinating colors of card stock.  I also created several "pockets" with my Envelope Punch Board and Stampin' Up! Designer Paper.  These added interest to the book and held little noted and folded letters.

Mixed media is a lot of fun and very do-able with Stampin' Up! products and a few extras...give it a try.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!  To celebrate, here are some Project Life ideas and thoughts from some of our Stampin' Up! concept artists.

Have you heard the exciting news about Stampin’ Up! partnering with Becky Higgins & Project Life? Here at Stampin’ Up!, we are very excited for this partnership and to start using our exclusive line of Project Life products.

Project Life has really revolutionized memory keeping. It’s quick, simple, manageable, and fun. All of the cards and accessories were created with coordination in mind. You can assemble pages quickly, or you can take a little more time and add stamping and accessories.

May 3 is National Scrapbooking Day. In honor of that, we’d love to share three Project Life layouts with you. All of these pages use the Everyday Adventure cards and the Everyday Adventure Accessory Pack. Enjoy!

Melody:

“I'm not much of a scrapbooker, at least in my personal life. Traditional scrapbooking can be overwhelming and time consuming. I already feel like I don't have enough hours in the day to accomplish all of the crafty things I want to do.

Project Life works for me because it's a quick way to put my photos together and capture my experiences and feelings. This spread was perfect for me as a Project Life newbie, because all I needed was the cards and the journaling pens. The hardest part of putting this together was deciding which of the adorable Project Life cards I wanted to use, and of course which pictures of Hammond and Penny to showcase.

Jen:

“I haven’t done scrapbooking for myself in a really long time. I used to spend hours (sometimes days) working on just one page. It was messy, time-consuming and expensive. Using Project Life has made me reconsider how I feel about scrapbooking, and I now I can’t wait to start documenting life again.

On this layout, I’ve used the Everyday Adventure Card Collection and Accessory Pack. I used the Project Life Journaling Pens to document my memories. I love how these write.

Honestly, these pages came together fast. The toughest part was narrowing down which of the cute cards to use.

Arika:

“I have been a fan of Project Life for a while now. I love the simplicity of printing photos, writing my journaling on predesigned pocket cards, and putting it all into a Photo Pocket Pages and being done. I also love that I have the option to add a little extra to my cards and pages when I need that creative outlet. The Everyday Adventure Accessory Pack is so perfect for this and makes it so easy and fun to step up my pages without too much thought and fussing around. It's a win-win in my book.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!”
