Makeover Monday (on Tuesday!)- Christmas 2015 Festival of Trees Card Idea

Stampin-up-christmas-2015-festival-of-trees-makeoverAs I mentioned in THIS POST earlier today, this week's Makeover Monday and 2015 Christmas Card with Festival of Trees is late!  But, for  good reason!

We had family in from out of town, celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and my 4oth Class Reunion!  It was a great weekend and I took the time off from everything else!  But today, I'm ready to get back to work and share an easy Christmas card idea with you.

The Christmas designer series paper collection in the annual catalog is a dream. Love the plaids, dots, and stripes in this Merry Moments (138450) collection!

The video tutorial below is from the past and was the inspiration for today's card. It's a bit of raw footage of a work in progress. It's a little longer and slower paced than most of my videos, but it's pretty much what you might see in a live feed.
Watch below or tune in to my You Tube channel HERE.

To shop, simply click the links above and your order will be delivered to your door!

inklings:

  • A 3" x 5 1/2" strip was adhered to center front with a 1" x 5 1/2" strip of a coordinating print across the center.
  • The Burlap Ribbon is frayed on one end and attached to the card with Fast Fuse.
  • Rhinestones are colored with a dark green alcohol marker.
  • Sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink (126966).

Stampin-up-video-tutorial-makeover-7-21-15Thank you for joining me for today's video tutorial makeover using Festival of Trees for this Stampin' Up! 2015 Christmas card idea.

inklings:
  • The textured piece with the Elegant Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is an additional piece of Real Red card stock which was substituted for the designer paper as seen in the video.
  • You can easily slip this into an envelope for mailing by substituting a 3/4" strip of Whisper White card stock for the ribbon and adhering it across the front flap.  Then, adhere the "tree" with liquid glue, SNAIL, or Fast Fuse instead of with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Other idea: Slip a miniature Hershey's Chocolate Bar as a treat for your child's friends, cousins, or classmates.
Have you started any holiday cards or craft projects?  Going through the design process early on is much easier than when pressed for time, don't you think?

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Sympathy Card

Stampin-up-sympathy-card-heartfelt-sympathy-7-8-15

Today's card is created with the new and beautiful Heartfelt Sympathy for the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.

Sympathy cards are often difficult to create.  What makes it much easier is having just the right stamp set with beautiful sentiments and subtle images.  The Heartfelt Sympathy set is that set.

Heartfelt-sympathy-138764G

Here are some of the Stampin' Up! products for this sympathy card with other items listed in the "inklings" list below:

Stampin-up-heartfelt-sympathy-7-8-15inklings:
  • The Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper collection is a beautiful choice for sympathy cards and goes well with this stamp set.
  • I could not find my Sahara Sand ink pad so I substituted Tip Top Taupe to sponge the Tea Lace Doilies and it worked fine!
  • I bunched the Sahara Sand Lace and stapled it on using the Handheld Stapler (139083) and Silver Mini Staples (135847).
  • Also missing (0ops!) from the list are the Circle Framelits (130911).  I used one of the circles to cut the sentiment stamped in Momento Black ink (132708).
If you're looking for a stamp set to create some beautiful sympathy cards; Heartfelt Sympathy is the perfect set to add to your collection.
