Today's beautiful Stampin' Up! card ideas come from Guest Stamper, Lisa M. 

Lisa shared these cards featuring this beautiful sponging technique highlighting simply stamped Basic Black images.

Notice how she uses variations of shades of blue on the first card and multiple colors to create a beautiful landscape in the background of the second card.

Love the special subtle accents that she used on both cards:

• Card 1-Punched circle used as a mask to create the moon.
• Card 1- Blue shading in the sentiment "Thanks" to tie it all together.
• Card 2-Mountain view created using torn or cut paper as a mask.
• Card 2- Top, bottom, and sides have deeper color to create a faux frame.
• Card 2 - Stamped Whisper White layer beneath the main image adds just the right touch of contrast.
• Card 2 - Beautiful shades of light and dark blue create the perfect shadows across the lake.

This simple design lets the strips of designer paper shine as the star!  The Thick Whisper White card stock base is wonderful and just right for your holiday greetings on the inside of the card.

• This card base was cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".
• The designer paper layer is cut at 4" x 5 1/4".
• The white ribbon is wrapped around the designer paper layer before attaching the layet to the card.
• The sentiment is "inked" with Stampin' Write Markers and cut with Oval Framelits along with the oval backing of contrasting designer paper.
• Faux stitching is added to the Whisper White oval with a Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Marker.

• This technique works best when starting with a light ink color.
• Use the side of your brush tip on your marker rather than the tip.
• You can re-moisten (if that's a word!) the ink on your stamp by blowing on it.
• If you "miss a spot" with you marker, no worries! It just adds to the unique artsy-ness of your creation!
