Let's Make a Stack of Birthday Cards

Birthday-notecard-video-tutorialOur daughter asked for some birthday cards to keep on hand so I made a stack of cards with the Stampin' Up! It's My Party Suite and Whisper White note cards and envelopes.

Our Whisper White Note Cards come 20 to a pack for $6.50, include envelopes, and they'll go First Class Mail unless your embellishments make the envelope "bumpy".

In this video, you'll see how easy it would be to mass produce these cards to keep on hand for birthdays!

Lisa's Inklings:

Here's the process of assembling this stack of birthday note cards:

  1. Choose your 3 colors/patterns of Designer Series Paper and cut all pieces.
    Bottom layer:  3 1/4 x 4 3/4
    Top layer: 3 x 4 1/2
    Banner piece: 2 x 4 1/2
  2. Punch/cut banner pieces.
  3. Cut Whisper White card stock- 1 1/4 x 3
  4. Choose color of ink according to what will look best with the paper you've chosen.  Stamp sentiments on all Whisper White pieces.
  5. Stamp balloon strings on the sentiment pieces.  Use a neutral colored ink of your choice.  I used Sahara Sand.
  6. Stamp # of each color balloon needed on a long, narrow strip of Whisper White card stock.
  7. Punch all balloons set aside.
  8. Assemble layers on note card bases.
  9. Adhere balloons on top of stamped balloon strings.
  10. Add Enamel Dot embellishments.
  11. Die cut Envelope Liners and insert in envelopes.
  12. *Make it fun with the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp!

Make A Birthday Pocket Card!

Handmade-birthday-pocket-card-video-tutorialThe idea for this pocket birthday card came from this project posted last week.  There was supposes to be a video tutorial for the countdown to te end of Sale-A-Bration, but I was having ALL kinds of technical issues and internet problems!

So this week, I have the video for you with the Cottage Greetings stamp set from the annual catalog from Stampin' Up!  It's made with the adorable Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die.  Let's take a look...

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Background stamping turns any piece of card stock into something special!  Try tone on tone stamping as seen on the tag.
  • The English Garden Designer Series Paper is a beautiful collection from the Annual catalog.  Find it HERE in the Online Store.
  • After videoing, I added the Iced Rhinestone Embellishment.  Nice addition, agree?  I needed something!

Makeover Monday- Mother's Day Card 2016

Mothers-day-2016-handmade-card-video-tutorialIt's not too early to start getting ready for Mother's Day so here's my first 2016 card idea for today's Makeover Monday.

The original card, as seen in the video, highlights the Gorgeous Grunge set.  The makeover has a background created with Timeless Textures from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.  Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey are two In Colors that are in their final days in the Stampin' Up! offering so be sure to stock up now on your ink refills and card stock.

In this video from the past, you'll see the inspiration for this 2016 Mother's day card.

Lisa Inklings:

  • Punched Fun Flowers take the place of the die cut leaves.
  • Flowers were punched from Hello Honey card stock.
  • For embossing, punched flowers were covered with VersaMark and embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.
  • Gold Metallic Thread and Hello Honey Ribbon substitutes for Linen Thread.
  • Banner with sentiment is moved below the flowers.
  • See the original post with this card HERE.
