Planning for big events does not have to be overwhelming and today's DIY project is a cute little bag that can be used as a wedding or shower favor. While the paper used in this video has sold out, you can use any paper to fit your decor or theme for this type of project.
The monogram is a beautifully scripted "B" that comes from the Brushwork Alphabet set in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. Let's take a look at the how-to in today's video tutorial!
Lisa's Inklings:
Cut designer paper to measure 4" x 6".
Score on long side at 1 3/4", 2 3/4", 4 1/2", and 5 1/2".
Turn and score at 1" to form bag bottom.
The size of your circle punched depend on the size of your monograms.
Here are some of the supplies used for today's project:
Today's tip for a RAK card for someone special was inspired by my mom many years ago. With four children (I am the oldest), she always found a way to do something special for each of us. When I was in high school and going through busy days, tryouts for this and that, or just for no reason at all, I would find a note on her special stationery or little gift in my zippered pencil pouch in my notebook during the first class of the day. It ALWAYS made the day so much better. It was a connection to home, the place where I was loved unconditionally, and nurtured and supported.
With that in mind, I was inspired to create these cute little cards that have space for a quick note, hand drawn heart, or just a "Love, Mom" (or Grandma or, in my case, Honey.)
Here's the video for this idea but you can make these with any supplies you have on hand.
Here's a list of a few of the supplies that I used in the video:
Do you have any ideas for RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) using your card making supplies? Have something special that you so for your children or grandchildren? Please share in the comment section below...I'd love to be inspired by you!
Side note: In case you're not on my mailing list (sign up here if you're not) and missed my email this morning, there have been lots of new items added to the Stampin' Up! Clearance Rack...Check it out HERE!
Thank you for joining me for this special post with a special card making video tutorial and I'll see you again soon!
Welcome to this week's Makeover Monday where you can learn an easy way to tie ribbons on your card making projects. This is a simple but classic layout on this birthday card and the ribbon is the finishing touch.
For this design you can use any designer paper, coordinating card stock and ribbon. You can let the designer paper be in the spotlight and add a simple sentiment for any occasion. This paper is retiring and discounted (Click HERE---it may still be available!), and if you're like most paper crafters, you have a stash that you can dig through to make this work.
Take a look at the video below and read on for information on cutting dimensions.
Lisa's Inklings:
Card base is cut 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".
Cut your designer paper at 4" x 5 1/4" and a different coordinating print at 1 1/4" x 4".
Use a contrasting color of coordinating card stock and cut at 1 1/2" x 4" to back the strip of designer paper.
You'll need a piece of a light color neutral to stamp and punch your sentiment.
Notice that I leave the ribbon on the spool in the video. If you can do this, you'll save on ribbon by not cutting it too short or too long.
