Today I'm beginning a feature that you'll see here on the blog called One Idea, Three Cards. In response to a questionaire that I sent to my mailing list, many responded that they had difficulty coming up with ideas. It's my hope that you can see what helps me in creating and you'll try designing different cards using the same idea from a card you've created previously. Let's take a look at the video tutorial below...
Here's the Stampin' Up! Supply List for the card that is assembled in the video. Just click the links to access the online store.

Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for background layer and 3/4" x 4" for piece beneath ribbon.
Whisper White is cut 3/4" x 4" for sentiment and trimmed after stamping.
Trim the Color Theory card to 2 3/4" x 3 3/4".
Here's another card using the same idea (sketch or card layout). Can you see the common elements?
Here's another cardmaking sample with the same idea. The focal point is the thinlit but the general assembly concept is the same. You can see that even though all three cards have a different look, these all originated from the same idea. Really helps when you're trying to come up with an idea for a card!
Hope you enjoyed see these three handmade cards from one idea!
The new Ribbon of Courage stamp set makes beautiful cards with messages of hope. I believe we all know someone or have someone in our families that would love receiving a card with this message. The set is so versatile and with the coordinating framelits, you'll be able to create beautiful cards for anyone.
The support ribbon colors can be found by conducting a search on your computer. This card was made with love for a particular friend in mind. The sentiments in this set are beautiful and can be used to send greetings to any of your loved ones.
Here's a look at the sentiments:
With faith all things are possible
LIVE every moment, LAUGH everyday, LOVE with all your heart
Sending Love and hugs to you
Courage
All of the images but one are perfect for coloring or simply stamped in one color as in the sample above.
Let's take a look at the how-to video for this Message of Hope card...

Make a card and send a card with a message of hope today and make a difference in the life of someone you know!
Today's card making tip is one that you are more than likely using already but if you're just getting into the craft or just curious about what I do, let's talk about cutting card stock for the inside of your cards. Many times, I'll wait until I'm ready to send the card to finish the inside. It's so nice to find that it's all ready to go when needed.
Here's the video with a few ideas on finishing the inside of your handmade cards.
Keep a stack of Very Vanilla and Whisper White card stock cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the insides of your cards.
Stamp a coordinating image on the Whisper White or Very Vanilla to decorate the inside of your cards.
You can get four pieces from one sheet of card stock.
Save the cut strips for stamped sentiments.
Save wide strips from other projects to use on the inside of your cards. You can trim these to fit in length.

This planner will help keep you on schedule and give you a creative outlet! I am really enjoying mine and especially love the binder. Washi Tape would be fun to use and accent borders or create different sections. Or, keep it as simple as you like. The Love Today Planner from Stampin' Up! is a great organizer and if you keep a planner, give it a try!
She was donating a door prize for a special event for nurses and wanted something pretty with a gift certificate. Now, the "lips" and the doily are retired from the Occasions Catalog but you can use any appropriate stamp and embellishment!
Here's a look at the inside with the gift certificate that I made for her, too!
Let's take a look at the original project video tutorial that inspired this card.
Lisa's Inkings:
The base is cut at 9 1/4" x 6 1/2".
Score the base at 3" and 6 1/4" with the 9 1/4" side at the top.
Layer of designer series paper is cut at 6 1/4" x 2 3/4".
Belly band is cut at 1" x 7 1/2".
Top embellishment is adhered to belly band so that is slips on and off easily.
The gift certificate is mounted on a piece of card stock for durability. I printed the gift certificate on plain printer paper and it needed somethings to give it a little substance.

I've been very busy preparing projects and videos for you, but if I am "quiet" for a few days at some point, you'll know that something big is happening! Today's cardmaking project and video tutorial features a special Father's Day card . You'll see a technique that is easy and packs a big punch. Have some watercolor paper on hand? Ink pads? Clear mount block? If the answer is yes, you are ready and set to go with this idea.
This technique is good to use with cards with a sentiment but no main image. It provides and colorful and fun background and no two attempts are ever the same.
Let's take a look at it in this Father's Day card video tutorial.
To celebrate Flag Day here in the U.S., let's make these patriotic party favors! These little treat cones always turn out cute and you can make them in any size by starting with a square piece of designer paper or cardstock.
Please forgive the fact that my treat cones are not stuffed with delectable goodies. It's just too tempting for me! So, I opt to stuff with shredded cardstock which will add to the look of your project even with or without the treats!
Embellishing these little cones has no boundaries. Have glue dots? Then, you're set to go! I have found that the best adhesive to assemble to cone is Tear & Tape. It's easy and convenient and provides a good stick.
Here's the how- to in today's video tutorial. Have questions or suggestions? Post in the comment section below!
