Tuesday Tip- Sponge Brayers

Sponge brayer

Quick check in with you again today with a tip on using the Sponge Brayer from Stampin' Up!  Our area in SE Texas is still getting rain with Tropical Storm Harvey making landfall (again) today.  We are still ok with no water in the house but lost power this morning.  We are still in the Ozarks and keeping close tabs with folks at home.  Please continue to pray for Texas.

I've really enjoyed using this new sponge brayer to get inky with my projects.  Let's take a look at today's video.

Thanks for tuning in...checking on family now.  I'll be back tomorrow for another Halloween Project!

Makeover Monday Video Tutorial- Stamped Background Christmas Card

Before we talk about today's makeover and Christmas card idea, I just want to thank all of you who have inquired about our safety and condition of our home in Texas.  We are currently in Missouri but have been keeping close tabs with family back home.  They are safe and we have been spared with no water in our homes for now.  There are many in our state who have experienced the devastation of Harvey.   Please pray for Texas. Carols-of-christmas-stamped-backgroundToday's card is a makeover of a Valentine card from a couple of years back.    Notice the background.  It's hand stamped with tone on tone...Cherry Cobbler ink on Cherry Cobbler card stock.  This is an easy way to create a beautiful yet subtle backdrop for your handmade cards.

Let's take a look at the video from the past...

Back to School Notepad Gift

Last night on my Facebook LIVE broadcast, I made two cute back to school notepad gifts for teachers or friends.  Did you see it?

If not, why not join us there?!  Many of you are on Facebook daily, right?  I know that I love seeing so many cute photos of my family and friends there.

This group was created as a place for us to gather where I can share what's going on in my crafting (and, sometimes, family) world.  It's a "sister" to my Ink and Inspirations with Lisa Brown page...another place you should be! ;)

These are the back to school notepads that I made...

Back-to-school-notepad-1These were designed for a 3 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1/4" notepad that I found at Target.  It's a good idea for a teacher gift, co-worker gift, or even a stocking stuffer.

Back-to-school-notepad-2I think this Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper (above) is just right for this project.

Back-to-school-notepad-3The notepad cover above features the Whole Lotta Lovely Designer Series Paper collection.  It's a little more on the frilly side but just as cute!

If you'd like to see the process and are on Facebook, hop on over and join the page HERE!

Another "don't miss out" is my email list!  I'll send emails weekly with project ideas and first notice of specials.

Let's take a look at the inspiration for this card in the following video tutorial.

Tuesday Tip- Versamark Resist Technique

Tip-technique

Today's tip is an easy and fun technique using Glossy Card Stock called the VersaMark Resist or Ghosting Technique.  Stampin' Up! re-released the Glossy Card Stock in this year's Annual Catalog after being absent for a few years.  There are quite a few techniques that you can do with this shiny, glossy paper and I hope to share more of them with you.

This technique is similar to the emboss resist technique.  It eliminates the embossing with basically the same effect.
