Holiday Table Setting Gift Packaging

Table-setting-gift-for-holidays-1This week's makeover is a classy look for your holiday table setting with this little gift packaging idea for a small treat or gift.

When I first saw this color combo for Christmas, I wasn't too sure if it was going to work for me.  But, get your hands on this beautiful Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper along with some embellishments and the Merry Music Specialty Paper...you'll see a winning combination.

Black and white is trendy and elegant and you can add a splash of any color to match your decor or table setting.  Here you see Old Olive which is the accent color in this designer paper collection.

Let's look at the simple how-to for the assembly then you can start thinking about what you'd like to add as the little surprise inside.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • For today's project, I cut the paper at 4" x 5 1/2",
  • Apply your Tear & Tape or Adhesive on the wrong side of your designer paper.  (along one side and and center of bottom)
  • Ribbon is cut about 16" long.
  • Brush Old Olive ink  with Aqua Painter over Shimmery White card stock before stamping the sentiment.

Customer Q & A- Traveling with Crafting Supplies

Traveling.blog-post-image

Recently, I received a question via email regarding how I travel with crafting supplies.  Since I am on the road quite a bit, I was able to share what works for me.  Possibly, this will be of help to some of you.

Most of the time, I will pack my kits (Paper Pumpkin or kits from the catalog) when I travel.  Most everything I need is in the kit.  If not, I usually just need to add ink, adhesive, and clear blocks to my bag. I always take my Paper Snips and my Stampin' Trimmer and some extra neutral card stock just in case! (Whisper White and Very Vanilla).

For working on specific types of cards or holiday cards, I would choose the stamp set(s) and the designer paper that I wanted to use.  From there, decide on your base and layers for your card stock and ink colors as well as ribbon and other embellishments.  For travel, I usually pack punches (circle punches, label punches, and punches that coordinate with stamp sets I've chosen) rather than try to carry the Big Shot.  Again, you'll need your basic tools and adhesive.

For air travel, supplies are packed in a soft sided carry on that zips.  It needs to have a bottom large enough and sturdy enough for your designer paper, card stock, and paper trimmer.  By car, I carry items in clear storage boxes with snap on lids. Embellishments fit in a divided storage pouch or a plastic shoe box. On my list to purchase are some 12 x 12 plastic storage boxes for my designer paper.
Since much of my travel is back and forth between Missouri and Texas, I do have doubles of the Big Shot, trimmer, inks, markers, card stock colors, and some punches.  I travel with stamp sets, designer paper, embellishments, and framelits.

Hope this is helpful.  Please feel free to ask questions about traveling with your crafting supplies!

Stampin' Up! 2017 Christmas Card Ideas Video Tutorial #4

Stampin-up-2017-christmas-card-idea-4aThe fourth in a series of 2017 Stampin' Up! Christmas Cards features the new Stampin' Blends and the Christmas in the Making stamp set.

In yesterday's video tutorial, I demonstrated the process of coloring this little miss that's from one of my favorite sets in the Holiday Catalog.  It's so much fun to color and I've gotten to "practice" a lot with my new Blends.  I like to stamp a lot of images and put them in a box with my Stampin' Blends.  Then, I can carry with me while traveling, to appointments...anywhere that I'll have some time to sit and "wait".  The complete set fits nicely in one of my old Paper Pumpkin boxes.

Let's take a look at the assembly of the card in today's video tutorial...
