DIY Christmas Gift Tags

With today's project, I wanted to share how to make beautiful gift tags for your 2017 Christmas gifts.  Most of the products used here are on the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog retiring list and at the time of the publication, are still available!

Even if you are not absolutely crazy about this color combo, I have to say it's really grown on me and I love it!

Seriously, these collections  of designer paper work so well together and you'll find the the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper has a flip side that you can use any time of the year!

Let's take a look at today's video.  These tags were inspired by make and takes from our Thailand Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip from last summer.

Happy Christmas Card Day!

Happy Christmas Card Day!

First-christmas-card
On this date in 1843, the world's first Christmas card was ordered to be produced by Sir Henry Cole, the first Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

From the Bath Chronicle:

He commissioned John Calcott Horsley to design two cards, a coloured example that cost people sixpence, and an uncoloured version for fivepence.

The uncoloured one, depicting a Victorian family eating and drinking, was sent to a lady called Marinda Cundy, and has been passed down through the family since that Christmas 170 years ago.

DIY Christmas Gift Packaging

DIY-Christmas-Gift- PackagingFor today's project, we have a sweet gift packaging idea for the Christmas gift featured on the previous blog post.  I love these acetate boxes!  You could even stuff it with candy or other sweet treats.

I used the the color theme on the cards to pull the coordinating embellishments from my supplies.  The foil paper is beautiful and really adds a classy touch.  Several more of these will be made for holiday gift giving.

Let's take a look at today's video for the easy how-to.

Make a Christmas Nutcracker Treat

2017-diy-christmas-treat-nutcracker-1Today's Christmas Nutcracker Treat is a remake of a candy wrap shared a few months ago.  If you're looking for an easy stocking stuffer treat, here's an idea! Featured is the Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper that is retiring from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. The Nutcracker is fussy cut (and, very easily, I might add) from the paper and the Merry Christmas sentiment is from the Seasonal Chums stamp set.

Let's take a look at the how-to video.  You'll be able to see how easily that you can transform this project for the holidays!

Click here to see this Holiday Treat Box video on You Tube.

2017-diy-christmas-treat-nutcrackerLisa's Inklings:

  • Cut the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Paper to 4 /12" x 3 1/2".
  • Score on 4 1/2" side at 1 1/2", 2", 3 1/2", and 4".
  • Turn and score at 3" for box bottom.
  • Fussy cut a Nutcracker from the Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper.
  • You'll need a scrap of Red Glimmer Paper for the punched piece and a bit of Whisper White to stamp and punch the sentiment.

Here is the list of supplies for today's makeover treat:
