Your Questions Answered: How To Finish the Inside of Handmade Cards

Finish.blog-post-image"How do you finish the inside of your handmade cards?"

This is a question that is asked quite often.  In my cardmaking video tutorials, it is a rare occasion when I go through the process of finishing the inside of the card.  Usually, I will wait to put those finishing touches once I know who the recipient will be.

But, that's not helpful for you all so I've assembled a few ideas to share with you today.  You'll see that it's not difficult at all for the inside of your card to be as finished and beautiful as the outside.  Let's take a look...

Tip:  I like to keep a stack of 4" x 5 1/4" pieces of Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock.  Order a pack of both and cut to those measurements and you'll have that part ready to go.

If you have questions that I can address regarding cardmaking, paper crafting scrapbooking, or Stampin' Up! products, please feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment below.  I will add it to my list of responses that are in the plans to be recorded.

Cardmaking Video with Beautiful Vellum

Cardmaking-idea-video-vellum

Today's project features a simple cardmaking project and video tutorial with some beautiful vellum.   This particular print design is from the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper collection from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Occasions Catalog.

Admittedly, sometimes this card maker will shy away from using vellum.  The adhesive has to be strategically placed.  With this beautiful print, it was easy to camouflage behind some of the colored blossoms and the die cut label.

Let's take a look at the video tutorial.  You'll see how this vellum piece just "makes" this card!

Lisa's Inkings:

  • The card base is Petal Pink cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
  • Vellum layer is cut 4" x 5 1/4".
  • The label is die cut from a 4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.
  • You'll need  14" - 18" of ribbon.

Here are the supplies used to create this card.  Just click the pics below to shop!

Product List

Cardmaking-with-vellumAdding the little bit of bling to this card gave it a special touch!

Be sure to tune in tomorrow to see the simple and fun way that I finish the inside of my cards in a "Your Questions Answered" video!

Rubber Stamping with the Stamparatus

If you haven't discovered this great tool for rubber stamping, the Stamparatus, then you are really missing out a great "helper"!

The Stamparatus has been around for a little while but wanted to share one easy technique that is really helpful.   The multi-step stamping with this tool makes it so convenient to create multiples of the same card a one such a breeze.  Think invitations, announcements, holiday cards, classroom treats...you get the picture.

Let's take a look at the video that was recorded just last week while preparing for my Stamp Club.

From the Stampin' Up! online store...

A must-have tool for all stampers, the Stamparatus® helps you perfectly align stamp images, stamp multiples of the same project quickly and precisely, and get complete ink coverage.

It was created by stampers for stampers, so it has all the features you want:

* Compatible with red rubber and photopolymer stamps
* 2 magnets to hold the paper in place
* Rulers on 2 sides for quick measuring
* 2 open sides so you can use larger paper
* Multiple hinges for more placement options
* 2 reversible plates for 4 sides to work with
* 1 foam mat for use with photopolymer
* 1 base with a grid
* Magnet storage areas

Recently, Stampin' Up! added some accessories to accompany this tool to make it even more amazing!

Extra plates for even more stamping steps.

Need extra magnets?

Love these grid sheets sized especially for the Stamparatus!

I love my Stamparatus bag!

Bottom line is, if you don't have a Stamparatus...now is the time!  You will love it.   It will be a helpful tool and order it plus one more item and you will qualify for the beautiful set you saw in the video or any of the items seen HERE.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you'll try making your rubber stamping even better with the Stampin' Up! Stamparatus.
