Gloss and Ink Technique for Cardmaking

IMG_2337

Let's start the week off with a fun cardmaking technique using glossy card stock and our Stampin' Up! Classic Inks.

This is a super easy technique.  Here's a suggestion...prep and cut several pieces of glossy card stock so that you can make several of these backgrounds at once.  How nice to be prepared with a beautiful background when you need to make a quick card.

The colors used here are Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, and Lovely Lipstick.  Let's take a look at the video tutorial for the process.

Lisa's Inkling:

  • Have a tissue ready to keep your hands neat and clean.
  • The Glossy Card Stock is cut 4" x 5-1/4".
  • Cut your Stamping Sponges into wedges for ease of use.

Need supplies to recreate this project?  Here is the list with links to the online store.  If you at looking for a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I would love to serve you!

Make a Basket for An Easter Gift

If you joined us on Facebook Live yesterday evening, you saw the creation of this cute Easter gift packaging for our granddaughters.  I had not used the mama duck from the Fable Friends set and I really enjoyed coloring her with my Stampin' Blends.

The "stuffing" for this little gift basket is from the Clearance Rack...Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie.  It's a generous amount in three colors and perfect for stuffing your gift-giving creations.

I decided to recreate this same basket with a different theme.  What do you think?

IMG_2328The box/basket of this one is made from designer paper and just right for a gift for other than small children.  The handle is simply stapled on this version.

One of My Favorite Restaurants!

Restaurant-buckinghams-1One of my favorite places to eat while we are in Missouri is at Buckingham Smokehouse Bar-B-Q in Springfield.  As you can see from the sign, it's been voted as Springfield's best BBQ and has even been featured on the Travel Channel!

Restaurant-buckinghams-2Conveniently located across from Bass Pro Shop, there is sure to be something on the menu for everyone's taste! My favorite of all is the pulled pork, sweet potato fries, and cole slaw! Delicious!  It's a super casual atmosphere and seating outside and in.

Restaurant-buckinghams-jackieHere's Mr. Brown with a plate full of pulled pork, ham, and sausage!  The potato salad is really good, too!

My friend, Bonnie of Calamity Jane's Cottage Shop on Facebook, loves the burnt ends.  She'll go up to the order window and order burnt "butts" though!  LOL. And, she'll be as serious as ever because that's what she calls them!

If you're ever in the Show-Me State near Springfield stop by Buckingham's and get some of their delicious bar-b-q!   I believe there may be some other locations but this one is conveniently located!  Hope if you're in the area you'll stop and enjoy one of my favorite restaurants.
