Cardmaking Tip: Framing A Sentiment

Framing-a-sentiment-bird-balladToday's post is the "conclusion" from yesterday's video with this sweet card using the Free As A Bird Bundle from Stampin' Up!

On this card, the focal point is the sentiment but notice how the die cut flowers gently frame it out.  It's a simple addition that adds a special touch.

Let's take a look at the video for this cardmaking project.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Pool Party card base is cut 4-1/4" x 11".  You can get the same look with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" base.
  • Designer paper (cages pattern) 4" x 5 1/4".
  • Whisper White 4" x 5" for stamping, die cutting and fussy cutting.

Cardmaking Tip Video: Adding Trim or Ribbon

Framing-a-sentiment

In today's cardmaking tip video, let's look at an easy way to add ribbon or trim to your handmade card or paper crafting projects.  This tiny bit of embellishment makes a statement and adds a sweet touch.  TThe lace seen above is the new Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim.

Here's the video with the super simple method of using trim or ribbon on your handmade cards.

This technique is a great way to use ribbon, lace, or trim while just using a smidgen of your embellishment.

Also, if you plan on mailing your cards, its the perfect way to add this bit of texture without adding too much bulk or weight to your cards.

If you enjoyed this post, please read on and be sure to...

Tune in tomorrow to see the completed card using this method of adding trim or ribbon and thank you for tuning in for today's cardmaking tip video tutorial.

Using Scrapbooking Supplies for Cardmaking

Cardmaking-with-scrapbooking-suppliesUsing the Stampin' Up! Memories and More Card Kits for cardmaking is so much fun!  The kits come with 3" x 4" cards, 4" x 6" cards, adhesive die cuts, and this one, Magnolia Lane, with some vellum sheets.  These sweet little kits make it easy to put together some beauttiful cards so don't think of these card kits as just for scrapbooking or memory keeping!

Let's take a look at the really "quick" video below and you'll see just how simple it can be!

Lisa's Inklings:

  • The greeting is a 3" x 4" card from the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card Kit.
  • Back this piece with 3-1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock.
  • The background layer is a 4" x 6" card from the Memories and More Card Kit, too!
  • The inside layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White with adhesive die cuts from the card kit.
