Customer Spotlight: Lynn Chapman

Lynn-chapman

Today's post is a spotlight featuring one of my dear customers, Lynn Chapman.

Lynn and I have never met in person but I consider her a friend.  Lynn is a beautiful paper crafter and has shared many of her lovely cardmaking projects with me over the years. I am honored she is allowing me to share with you today.

From Lynn:

I have always loved painting and crafting of any kind.  I was hooked from the first day I started making cards in 2007. I usually spend at least one day a week in my craft room “playing” with my stamps. It is so relaxing and fun for me. I belong to a group now called “Stamping Fools”. We meet once a month and play all day. We share ideas for cards and love the Fellowship with each other. I haven’t bought a card since 2008! It is so rewarding when people say how special they feel to get one of my handmade cards. Hopefully, I will be able to continue this hobby for many years to come.

Lynn's Card

The color combinations in this card absolutely give the feel of summer.  Nothing quite like the combination of Daffodil Delight and Old Olive with a touch of white.  The flowers are printed on vellum and were part of last year's Stampin' Up! catalog.  The image is colored with our beautiful Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.  You could try to get this same effect by stamping a floral image on vellum in Jet Black Stazon ink (see link below) and coloring it with Stampin' Blends on the reverse side.  You'll have a beautiful stained glass effect. The sweet sentiment is from the Enjoy Life stamp set.

Here are some of the current Stampin' Up! supplies that Lynn used on this project.  You can find them in the Online Store by clicking the links below.

Make a Monochromatic Card with Stampin' Up! Products

IMG_3427 2Today's project is a pretty monochromatic card made the Very Versailles stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  If you read and watched yesterday's post and video tutorial, you may recognize a portion of this card.  (Take a look at that Leaves Trinket embellishment.)

In choosing the "greens" for this card, I took my cue from some designer paper.  The Garden Lane Designer Series Paper featured these colors.  This always helps me choose coordinating colors for my cardmaking projects whether I am using the designer paper or not.  I figure if Stampin' Up! combines these colors to work together then so can we!

Here's the video that will take you through the process of putting this card together.  I love the feel of this set and have enjoyed playing with it...lots of possibilities!

Lisa's Inklings:

  • The base is cut from Garden Green at 4-1/4" x 11".
  • The Garden Lane DSP is cut 4" x 5-1/4".
  • Mint Macaron card stock was used for stamping and punching.
  • After the video was recorded, I added the scallop circle in Mossy Meadow behind the sentiment.

Here is a listing of the Stampin' Up! supplies used to create this card.

Thank you for joining me for today's Stampin' Up! monochromatic card idea using the Very Versaille stamp set and Garden Lane Designer Series Paper.  I hope it inspires you to create today!  Keep checking back for more ideas and tips and I will see you again soon!

Sunset Watercolor Background in Cardmaking

Sunset-watercolor-background-7-1If you love watercoloring in cardmaking, the new watercolor paper from Stampin' Up! is a must-have!

It was used here to make this sunset background.  My local club ladies made this card and no two sunsets looked alike!  They were all beautiful!

And, if you haven't discovered this beautiful new Sailing Home bundle, you are in for a treat!  It's beautiful and versatile and another must-have for your collection.  You can see more cards made with this awesome bundle HERE.

Let's take a look at the video tutorial for the watercolor sunset background.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Let your watercolored piece completely dry before stamping on it.  Use a Heat Tool to speed up the process if needed.
  • The watercolor paper is cut 3" x 4".
  • The Night of Navy base in the video is cut to 4-1/4" x 11" but if you choose, the 5-1/2" x 8 1/2" piece works for this project, too.
  • You'll need approximately 3" x 4" of Whisper White for stamping and die cutting.
  • The Mango Melody piece is cut 3-1/2" x 4-1/2".
  • If you so choose, you may put a drop of ink refill on a clear block rather than in the stamp case lid as seen in the video.

Here are the Stampin' Up! supplies used to create this cardmaking project.  I would be honored to serve you as your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!  Just click the links below to read more about a product or to purchase.  Thank you!
