How about some tips on cutting for cardmaking?  A member of my mailing list, who is a beginning cardmaker, mentioned that cutting and measuring were two of her biggest challenges.  It seems like many of us have been able to relate to those challenges especially when just beginning to dabble in this fun craft!

The reply to her email included the following videos from my YouTube Channel which she found most helpful. With that, it seemed these videos were "post-worthy" again.

• With the remaining Whisper White piece, cut at 1-1/2".  This finished piece should be 1-1/2" x 4-1/4".
• Basic Black CS- 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" and 1-1/2" x 4-1/4".
• Designer Paper- 2-1/8" x 4" and 1-3/8" x 4".

• Cut the Pretty Peacock 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [150880]to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".
• With the Simply Scored [122334] score on the long side at 3", 6", 7", and 8".
• Fold and burnish with your Bone Folder [102300] on the score lines.  The 7" score line will be a mountain fold so burnish it the opposite way from your other folds.
• Apply Tear & Tape Adhesive [138995] to the tab formed by the 8" score line.  You will connect the two ends together. The mountain fold mentioned in the previous step will allow the calendar to stand on its own.
• The background DSP from the Botanical Prints Product Medley [151301] is cut 5-1/4" x 2-3/4".
• The Crushed Curry 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [131199] is cut 3-1/4" x 2-1/2".
• The Lemon image is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad [132708] and colored with the Mossy Meadow Dark Stampin' Blends Marker [148546] and Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin' Blends Marker [144585].  The Stampin' Blends Color Lifter [144608] was used to add some highlights to the leaves. The image is then die cut with the coordinating dies.
• The black and white designer paper is punched with the 2" Circle Punch [133782] and the Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [100730] is punched with the Starburst Punch [143717].
• Adhere the layered circle and Starburst piece as shown and before the calendar with back layer is adhered. The lemon image is adhered last with Stampin' Dimensionals [104430].
• The Old Olive ribbon from the Botanical Prints Product Medley [151301] is tied around the lower front panel to complete the project!

Yesterday was my sweet Dad's 90th Birthday!  We celebrated last night with family at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Southeast Texas. 

Our Dad is a fit, fun, and full of life 90 year old!  We had so much fun.  Two of my siblings were there...my youngest brother joined via FaceTime from Oklahoma.

Three of his siblings were able to join us.  His brother was visiting family in Houston.  There were 11 siblings in their family.

I made the cupcake toppers for his birthday cupcakes using the Make A Difference stamp set and the Golden Honey Designer Paper from the Sale-A-Bration brochure

Mia helped me make the birthday card using a retired stamp set and the Country Club Designer Series Paper.

It was a grand celebration for Dad's 90th!  Thanks for tuning in to read all about it!

My local Texas Stamp Club met yesterday afternoon for a combo Holiday/First Month of Sale-A-Bration party!

Since I was under the weather before, during, and after the holidays, I had to put my Club Christmas Party on hold.  So we had a January celebration and we all had a blast visiting and crafting together.  It was like a family reunion!

Most of these ladies have been with me since my Stampin' Up! beginning!  It's a close group and we celebrate our joys and console and support each other during sorrowful and stressful times.  Even more special, this group continues to meet even when Jackie and I are in Missouri.  One of my sweet Stars team members holds the club gathering at her home and I'll ship the projects and directions and pop in virtually through FaceTime.  (Thank you, Debbie!)
