• Pacific Point Cardstock [111350 ]base is cut 8 x 4-1/4 and another piece cut 1-1/4 x 5-1/2 for the bridge.
• Score the large piece at 1-1/4, 2-1/2, 5-1/2, 6-3/4.
• Designer Series Paper: 1 piece at  2-7/8 x 4-1/8, 2 pieces at 1-1/8 x 4-1/8, and another 2 coordinating pieces at 1-1/8 x 4-1/8. Cut another of this coordinating pattern to 1-1/8 x 5-3/8.

Happy Mardi Gras!  We are experiencing some near record low temperatures today as is most of the USA.  With that being said, our electrical power situation is uncertain so this post will be quick as well as the video.  If you have questions about the project, please let me know.  The measurements are listed below the video.

Since many of us are homebound due to icy roads, I wanted to share an easy project that can be used with a little Ghiradelli chocolate square for any occasion. The Mardi Gras colors are used on this project: purple represents justice, green represents faith, and gold represents power.

• Gorgeous Grape 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [146987] is cut 6 x 3-1/4.
• Score this piece at 2, 2-12, 4-1/2, and 5 on the long side.
• Turn and score on the short side at 1/2 inch from each side.
• Garden Green 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [102584] is cut 3/4 x 5-1/2 for the belly band.
• You'll need a small piece of Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] for stamping and punching.

For all intents and purposes, Mardi Gras celebrations here in the South have been cancelled but tomorrow still is Mardi Gras aka Fat Tuesday which is the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent on the Christian calendar.

In the past, there have been some projects that I've created for decor and our celebrations.  The banner above hung on our front door for Mardi Gras season for years.  The wind and weather finally got the best of it!

Here is a treat that is sometimes a "Throw" along with beads and toys at a Mardi Gras parade...Moon Pie!

And, while it may be freezing/icy outside, our carnival spirit is kicking it here in Southeast Texas!

• So Saffron  Cardstock [105118] base is cut 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2.  You will need another piece of this color cut to 3 x 4-1/2 to die cut.
• Cut a piece of Terracotta Tile Cardstock [150884] to 4 x 5-1/4.
• Cut the Fine Art Floral 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper [154558] to 3-3/4 x 5.

1. Cut card base 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” score at 4 1/4”.
2. Cut Oh So Ombre 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper [155225]  at 4” x 5 1/4” glue to card base.
3. Cut Bermuda Bay card stock at 3 3/4” x 4” then lay it on the Stamparatus [146276] and add magnets to hold down card stock. 
4. Arrange your seashell stamps on the card stock then picked them up with the Stamparatus.
5. Ink the stamps with the Versamark Pad [102283] and then stamp. 
6. Pour your gold embossing powder over the stamped images, then heat with heat gun.
7. Then wrap the gold twine around four times tapping down to back, then cut a small piece to wrap around the four strands and tie a bow. Add some glue dots to help secure it, then add Stampin' Dimensionals [104430]to this piece and center on front of card base on the dsp.
8. Take the ombre dsp stamp the larger shell in the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad [132708] then cut out and pop up with Dimensionals on top of the twine.
9. Stamp the "for you" sentiment on a piece of that ombré dsp and use the star die cut cut out, then glue down to top of the large shell.
10. Now stamp the star on the ombré dsp and cut out with the coordinating die and add it to the edge of the other star.
11. Take the ombré Bermuda bay piece of dsp then stamp the sand dollar and cut out with coordinating die and glue behind the stars a little. 
12. Add your three pastel pearls one to the center of your bow.

Here's a view of the inside of the card. Using the "stamp off" technique (ink the stamp, stamp off on scratch paper then stamp on your card stock), you will be able to write your message over the stamped image.  To make it even more faint, you may "stamp off" twice.
