Today's cardmaking video tutorial features this easy angle cut technique.  This is such a fun look and so simple to achieve. 

In the video tutorial, you will see how one cut can add such an interesting touch to your card front!

Let's take a look!

Lisa's Inklings:

• Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] for card base is cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2.
• You will need a piece of Basic White for the angle cut...2-1/2 x 5 plus some smaller pieces for die-cutting.
• Calypso Coral 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [122925] is cut 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 plus some scrap will be needed for die-cutting the flowers.
• You're A Peach 12" X 12"  Designer Series Paper [155686] is cut 2 x 5.

You could do this technique with any color of card stock and designer paper.  But, this Sweet As A Peach Bundle (English) [155823] and You're A Peach 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper [155686] is perfect for summer.  Here's another sweet card made with these products.

• You'll need small pieces of Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] and Bermuda Bay 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [131197] or whatever color coordinates with designer paper.

Today's card project is a beautifully embossed handmade card of kindness using the Quiet Meadow Bundle (English) [155847] from Stampin' Up!  The white background is gorgeous and that embossing makes it over the top! 

This project was designed by my assistant, Catherine Stewart.  Here's the how-to.

Cut your Basic White Cardstock [159276] base at 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” score at 4 1/4”

Insert just the front of the card base in the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder [155428] and run through your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine [149653].

Now cut your Soft Succulent Cardstock [155776] at 3 1/4” x 4 1/2” 

Cut another piece of Basic White at 3 1/8” x 4 3/8” now insert it in the Meadow Moments Embossing Folders [153126] with the butterflies and adhere it to the Soft Succulent piece.  Glue that down more to the right side of card base.

Cut 1/2” strips 2 3/4” long in the Evening Evergreen Cardstock [155574], Fresh Freesia Cardstock [155613],Pale Papaya Cardstock [155668], and Polished Pink Cardstock [155710].  Stamp the splatter stamp on each piece in the coordinating color and then take the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch [152883] and punch just one end using the one on the left. Stamp your sentiment on the Pale Papaya piece.

Now take and glue down each piece staggering a bit as shown. You may have to trim down a couple of pieces just a little.

Die-cut out the greenery piece in Soft Succulent 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [155776] using the dies from the bundle. 

Cut out the butterfly in Basic White then use your Blending Brushes [153611] and the Polished Pink Classic Stampin' Pad [155712]to color the butterfly so you can get the watercolor affect. 

Adhere the greenery to the left of the sentiment and adhere the butterfly down to the greenery. 

Tie your bow with the white baker’s twine.

Let's start the week off with a fun fold birthday card for children ...or, the young at heart!  This Sweet Ice Cream Bundle makes the cutest cards!  Choose a bright designer paper and you can have a sweet card in minutes. 

Everyone loves a fun fold because there is something special about it, right? Let's take a look at how this one is made!  If you like making fun fold cards be sure to try this one!

Lisa's Inklings:

• Pool Party 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [122924] is cut 5-`/2 x 8-1/2 and scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4.
• Pool Party 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [122924] and Old Olive 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [100702]: small pieces (about 3 x 4) for die cutting.
• Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] 2" strips for stamping and punching and 5-1/4 x 4 for the inside.
• Designer Paper: 3 pieces cut at 1-7/8 x 5-1/4.

You could use any layering die-cut labels for the focal point.  Remember that only the left side is glued to that very first panel.

Today's post features an easy technique for creating faux ribbon for your handmade cards.  This was one of the very first techniques that I learned when I first began my journey with paper crafting and cardmaking.  On a recent Facebook live, I demonstrated this technique and found that several viewers had never tried or seen this technique.  This led me to take a clip from the video and share it with all my viewers. 

Let's take a look at this simple technique to create faux ribbon using a Bone Folder [102300] and some cardstock strips.

Lisa's Inklings:
-Strips of cardstock should be cut 3/8 to 5/8 for best results to create the faux ribbon.
-Run the side edge of the Bone Folder [102300] along the cardstock strip at least twice.
-Separate the layers slowly and carefully.
-Use Mini Glue Dots [103683] to make the bow.
-Try this technique on a larger piece of cardstock to create a fun textured layer for your handmade cards.

This card was made with minimal supplies including stamps, ink, and paper.  For cardmaking and paper crafting, basic tools/supplies are also needed which include Paper Trimmer [152392], Bone Folder [102300], Paper Snips [103579], and adhesives such as Multipurpose Liquid Glue [110755] and Mini Glue Dots [103683].

The best advice I can give is to have fun. There are no mistakes when card-making. Sometimes they come out differently than you plan.😊
