Easy Gift Card Holder with Gift of Giving

Today's project is a gift card holder created primarily with Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. This is a festive way to use your paper in your stash to create for the Christmas season of giving.

The design was presented in an Ink and Inspirations LIVE video. You see the assembly and the process in the video HERE.

It's so simple to make a pocket for a gift card with an easy 1" fold of designer paper. Below are the basic measurements so that you can create these this holiday season.

Cut the designer paper to 4 1/4" x 12". Score at 1" and 6 1/2".
You will need a piece of card stock that coordinates with the designer paper and cut 1" x 4 1/4". This strip will be adhered to on the left edge of the designer paper and will be part of the pocket.
The inner pieces of card stock are to write your message and are cut 3" x 4" in Basic White and 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" in the same color as the coordinating card stock strip.
If you'd like a closure for your card, glue a long piece of ribbon around to tie on the right closure. The main image on the front should be glued over the ribbon to secure it.

Shining Brightly 12" X 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper [162378] is cut 3" x 5 1/2".
Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [101650] is cut 2 3/4" x 3 1/2" for stamped sentiment and 4" x 5 1/4" for inside of card.
Gold Foil Sheets [132622] is cut 1/2" x 6" (2). Trim off excess.

How To Make Christmas Gift Card Holders with Patterned Paper

Cut designer paper to 4 1/4" x 12". Score at 1" and 6 1/2".
Cut two pieces of cardstock that coordinates with your designer paper. (1)- 1" x 4 1/4" and (1)- 4 1/4" x 3 1/4".
Cut a piece of Basic White" 4" x 3". Layer on top of the larger piece of card stock for the inside of the card.

O Holy Night Christmas Card

Today's project is a card representing the true meaning of Christmas with a depiction of a scene from that O Holy Night.

The design of this card comes to life with the scenic view offered by the O Holy Night 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper [161986]. With it's starry skies, desert views, and artful depictions of that first Christmas night, this paper has been a joy to create many different kinds of cards.

Here are some of the details and measurements for you to make your own.

Lisa's Inklings:

Night Of Navy 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [100867] card base is cut 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".
The scenic view of the fields and Bethlehem is cut from the O Holy Night 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper [161986] at 4" x 5 1/2".
The shepherd and sheep are die cut with the dies from the Night Divine Bundle (English) [161997] in Basic Black 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [121045] and Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [101650], respectively.
The sentiment is stamped directly onto the designer paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed in white. "O Holy Night" is from the stamp set in that same bundle.

The inside of the card is a Very Vanilla piece cut at 4" x 5 1/4" with the sentiment stamped in Night Of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad [147110] and the stars stamped in Balmy Blue Classic Stampin' Pad [147105]. Both stamps are from the Night Divine stamp set included in the Night Divine Bundle (English) [161997].

Trucking Along set from the Trucking Along Bundle (English) [162306] that includes the Truck Builder Punch. But wait, there's more! Cut another circle about 1/4" smaller of patterned paper and light neutral if you want an area on the back for stamping/writing. You will need only a half circle of each and save the other halves for a different card.
Cut the "mechanism" at 1/2" x 2. Score at 1/2", 1", and 1 1/2". Accordion fold and attach to the inside of the card as seen in the video.
Choose an image for your spotlight but not too big. As we saw in the epic fail in my video ;), it cannot be too top-heavy!
Die cut or punch card stock to cover the back of the image and to attach to the fold of the circle.
Add sentiment as desired.
