Make A Pillow Box from Any Designer Paper

Twinkle-pillow-box-1The new Stampin' Up! Catalog has some really cute, pre-cut and scored pillow boxes but did you know that you can make your own with designer paper with the help of these boxes?

In today's video tutorial, you'll see how easy it is to create one such as seen in the photo above.  You'll need a pencil, one of the Stampin' Up! Pillow Boxes, some adhesive, and your Bone Folder or Stylus from your Simply Scored.  Let's take a look...

Happy Mardi Gras!

Today is Mardi Gras!

Mardi Gras colors are beautiful! Purple (Elegant Eggplant) represents justice, green (Old Olive) represents faith and gold (Daffodil Delight) represents power.

Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday which is the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.
You can see other Mardi Gras projects that I've created here with this treat and here with this decorative banner which is hanging on my back door.

Below is our grandbaby, Mia, as she was all decked out in her Mardi Gras attire for the parades this past weekend!

Bundle of Love Baby Card

Today's project is a baby card that I made with the Bundle of Love card set and specialty designer paper for our new grandbaby, Mia Reese.

My schedule had been totally re-vamped, in a good way, with Mia's arrival and the our recent Stampin' Up! Incentive trip to Thailand!  My sleep pattern is finally back to normal, thank goodness, and I've set up a temporary craft room at our daughter's home so that I can craft AND do my job as "Honey" to help around the house and sneak in all the snuggles that I can!

Let's get back to talking about our card project! This sentiment, from one of the cards in the Memories and More kit, was perfect for card for newborn Mia.  And, notice that yummy texture on that background made with our new embossing is divine!

Let's take a look at the video tutorial for this Bundle of Love baby card.

You can see this Bundle of Love Baby card here on You Tube.

Here is this Stampin' Up! Supply List for today's card.  If you do not have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I would love to serve you!  Thank you for your consideration.

Cute Baby Shower Favors

Baby-shower-favor-sideLast month, we celebrated our daughter, who is a mommy-to-be, at a baby shower and this is a close up shot of the favors that I made.

I found the little verse and idea on Pinterest and made "a bunch" of these just as I had for our youngest daughter's baby shower

Here's a little video with the simple how-to:

Simple idea and a sweet thought...don't you think?  Sorry to say that the Love Notes Framelits Dies are no longer available, but you can die cut tiny hearts or flowers to embellish the top.  And, those designer paper stacks?  Sold out, too, but you can choose any designer paper in your choice of colors.

Here are the direct links for the boxes and the Decorative Label Punch... which is also retiring!

Baby Shower and Stampin' Up! Favor Ideas

Today I'm sharing photos from our daughter's baby shower last weekend which include some decor and shower favors created with the help of Stampin' Up! supplies!

InvitationHere's a "rough" photo of the outside of the shower invitations created with the Something for Baby Bundle (wood-136790,clear-136791), the Elegant Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder(138287) along with the nursery theme colors: Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate, and Metallic Gold.  The shower information insert was created by a local digital designer.  I printed four to a page from my home computer and secured inside the card with Tombow Liquid Glue.

Sign inHere's the sign in table with favors, photos, and a precious diaper cake made by my sister-in-law, Cathy.  My daughter wanted 12 x 12 pages for the guests to sign so she chose a dotted print from the 12 x 12 Subtles stack in Blushing Bride and a layered a piece of 12 x 12 vellum over top for guests to sign.  I ordered the 12 x 12 vellum from Amazon as well as Vellum pens to eliminate smearing.
These pages will fit nicely in our 12 x 12 page protectors (135296) and slip into her Project Life by Stampin' Up!  Striped album (138441) among her other pages that will be completed using the Hello Baby Girl Card Collection (138504) and Hello Baby Accessory Pack (138458).

BannerHere's the banner with the baby's name that was accented with two torn fabric strip banners as the backing.

ClotheslineSuper cute clothesline with baby clothes including some with monograms and the baby's name from sis -in-law, Cathy.

TablesA few guest tables backed some rows of chairs for seating.  Niece, Cari, was the shower stylist.  Each table held a simple floral arrangement with hand painted framed scripture verses that she presented as gifts to the mom to be.

Punch-cakeBeautiful tiered cake by Debbie's Delights along with Almond Punch, cookies, fresh fruit, and sandwiches provided refreshment for the guests.

CookiesPrecious cookies baked and decorated by Heather Abshire, friend and former Stamp Club member.  Notice the hand painted gold detail on the carriages!

FavorThese favor boxes contained a Yankee Candle tealight wrapped in one of our  4 x 6 cellophane bags (102757).  Also used were Stampin' Up! Tiny Treat Boxes (135829), Bow Builder Punch (137414), Large Oval Punch (119855), Decorative Label Punch(120907), and the Washi Label Punch (138296). The verse was found on Etsy.

SistersNow for proud momma moments!  Here are our two girls...the mommy to be and the best big sister ever!

K-lSo blessed with these two as daughters!

QuiltHer mother- in-law made all the bedding for the nursery!  Isn't this quilt beautiful!?

Thank you for allowing me to share in our baby shower joy and let me know if you have questions or inquiries about the Stampin' Up! product for shower favors, banners, or the invitations.  See you again soon!

It's A Baby ....!

It's been a while since I've posted so you must know there's a good reason!  Most of you know that we will be first time grandparents in November.  This past week, we had all the family in town and enjoyed time with all!

In lieu of this week's Makeover Monday, I've decided to share our happiness with you!  For last week's Makeover Monday project HERE, you saw some little favors that I created for a Baby Gender Reveal.   Of course, since we had our girls 30 years ago, this was all new for us...but, it sure was a LOT of fun and so exciting!

Baby-boxOur daughter and her mother in law prepped this box and it was ready for us to deliver to Party City with the sealed envelope along with the bloodwork results which revealed the gender.  The parents to be wanted to be surprised, too!

Baby-tableOur oldest daughter did a great job decorating and organizing this family event.  Lots of pink and blue decor and foods.

Momma-dad-to-beHere are the mommy and daddy-to-be before the guests arrived.

Then, finally, the big moment...and, it's a ...

Its-a-girlWe are so excited to meet baby Lyla Rose in November!

Thank you for allowing me to share a little glimpse into our grandbaby gender reveal!  I'll be back tomorrow with some new Weekly Deals!
