Introducing Stampin' Up! Fitting Florets Collection and a Birthday Card

Stampin' Up! has just released a new collection which is actually a sneak peek from the January to June 2023 Mini Catalog and it is called the Fitting Florets Collection (English) [163129].

This collection contains a bundle that will be featured in the new catalog and, in addition, to go along with the holiday season, Stampin' Up! is offering some limited-time products that you can use for your holiday crafting!  Included are some really pretty gold embellishments,  a beautiful collection of Designer Series papers, and a stamp set with Christmas sentiments that are great for Christmas cards, Christmas tags, and all of your holiday decor.

Pictured above is a card that was created on a recent live video on Facebook and YouTube. It's a birthday card that utilizes the Framed Florets bundle and the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper [161814]. The set of dies included in this bundle is just beautiful. They contain three oval shapes that you can mix and match for your projects.

Let's take a look at the recording of the video below.

Masculine Birthday Cards with Stampin' Up! He's the Man

YouTube Thumbnail-Magic(1)Last week's Premiere featured two masculine birthday cards with the new Stampin' Up! Here's the Man Suite. You will love this group of products and if you struggle with masculine-themed cards, this is for you!

The die-cuts in the He's The Man 12" X 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper [159068] are fantastic for making quick cards!  It was hard to stop creating once getting started with these.

Here's the recording of the video from the Premiere.

Masculine Birthday Cards with Stampin' Up! He's the Man

Lisa's Inklings:
-For the diagonal cut on the He's The Man 12" X 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper [159068], upper left to the lower right of two prints.  It's easiest if one of the prints does not have specific directionality.
-For the fun fold, cut your card stock 4-1/4 x 11.  Score at 5-1/2 and cut 3" off of what will be the front of the card.

Masculine-birthday-card-hes-the-manFour dies were used on the card above. The two Crushed Curry Cardstock [131199] banners are cut with one die!

Keep in mind that you don't always have to stamp on neutral card stock.  On this card, Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad [147114] was used on Soft Succulent 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [155776].

Masculine-birthday-card-stampin-up-hes-the-manThe inside of the card has a simple strip of leftover designer paper on a Basic White Cardstock [159276] layer.

Bbq-masculine-birthday-cardWhat an easy fun fold card!  Just change the orientation of a piece cut from the front.

Handmade-masculine-birthday-card-fun-foldThe card front covers the inside layer of the card.  Here, two scrap strips of patterned paper were used on the Basic White piece.

Masculine-fun-fold-card-hes-the-manThis sentiment could be used for a birthday card, congratulatory card, or graduation card.  There is no sentiment stamped on the inside so that it can be customized later for the occasion.

Here are the supplies used for these cards...

Artfully Layered Card with Vellum Tip

Artfully-layered-card-with-vellumHere's a birthday card made with the Artfully Layered Bundle and a vellum tip.  The summery, tropical feel of this card is nice for late spring and summer birthdays here in North America.

When using vellum, you have to be a little sneaky with your adhesive so that it doesn't show through the other side.  In this short video on YouTube, you can see how the placement of the greenery hides the adhesive.

Sometimes just offsetting your cut layers can make a simple layout look fabulous.  Here's the section of the video for you to see just how this card is put together.

Here are the supplies used for today's card.  The Thick Basic White is great for card bases and the Basic White is great for stamping and for the inside layers of your cards.

Simple Cardmaking Layout

Today's project is a simple cardmaking layout with the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Driving By.  When you have a lot of cards to make of the same design, a simple layout is always the way to go.  This one uses just a small piece of designer paper but really makes a statement to set off the stamped and colored image.

The textured background layer anchors it all to the card base.   Using a dry embossed piece such as this one turns a smooth card stock layer into a dramatic piece.  The Tasteful Textile 3 D Embossing Folder [152718] is a good basic one to have since it fits with just about any card style.

You can see the video with this card in last week's YouTube Premiere HERE.

Below is the listing of supplies used for this Simple Cardmaking Layout.

Birthday Card with a Mini Banner

Childrens-birthday-cardThis little otter from the Awesome Otters Cling Stamp Set (English) [158087] was standing in just the right position to hold a mini banner for a birthday card.

This cute little set is FREE with a $50 purchase during Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration which continues through the end of February.

This birthday card would be cute for anyone but don't you know that the littles would really love it!  Here's a Valentine with this little character that they would really love!

Otter-birthday-card-with-mini-bannerI recorded a quick video so you could see how to make a card like this one.

Birthday Card with a Mini Banner

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Even if you don't have a little character to "hold" your banner, you can make one to attach to the top layer of your card.  Choose your designer paper layer so your banner will stand out and not be competing with the pattern.
  • It's best to use a very thin ribbon, twine, or Linen Thread [104199] as seen here for your banner.
  • Your banner pieces could also be cut pieces of card stock instead of a sentiment.

Here are the supplies used for this card.  Just click the links to be taken to my Online Store.  I appreciate you and your support of my small business!

We are always in need of birthday cards, right? I hope you will try this idea with a mini banner on your next birthday card.

I don't know about you but many times I am scurrying around looking for a box.  Boxes are just too hard to store but these are fun to make and will work for many gifts. This is a great pattern to keep on hand and it is super simple.  It is 6" square and 3" deep.  You could even fold an adult-size t-shirt to fit inside.

Here's the video then you will want to "dig through" all that 12 x 12 paper that you have been saving ;) to create these!

Stampin' Up! Countdown to Christmas 2021- DIY Gift Box

  • You will need two pieces of 12 x 12 paper.
  • Score both at 3" on all 4 sides.
  • Cut two tabs off one side of the top as shown in the video.
  • Adhere the one long tab to the outside of the back of the box bottom. (see video)
  • Tie with ribbon and add a tag!

Color Trend in Cardmaking

Today we are taking a look at a cardmaking color trend that's floating around the world of paper crafting; using neutrals with a spot of color.

Notice that I didn't use the term "pop of color"?  With this trend, I've noticed subdued colors rather than bright or bold colors.  In Stampin' Up! terms, these would include colors from our Subtles or Neutrals Color Collections.  I've enjoyed challenging myself to follow this trend and hope you will be inspired to do so after seeing this video and these samples.

This video was a Premiere video on YouTube which is a series that I hope you will watch every Thursday evening at 6 PM Central.  These videos will vary in length from a few minutes to an hour and will remain on YouTube if you aren't able to join us for the Premiere.  However, if you are able to join at the Premiere time, you can participate in the LIVE chat if you are signed in to your Google or Gmail account.

If you missed it on YouTube, here's the video!
