Easy DIY 2023 Calendar

Share-a-milkshake-calendar-2Today's project is an easy DIY 2023 calendar made with a sweet bundle from the Stampin' Up! Mini catalog, Share A Milkshake Bundle [160396].

It's still January so you can continue to make calendars to share with friends, family, and co-workers.

Earlier this month, this style of calendar was shared on my mini catalog launch with a different theme and different supplies.  While working with this ice cream-themed stamp set, I thought it would make a sweet calendar to have on my desk.

Share-a-milkshake-calendar-1

Below are the measurements and tips so that you can create some, too!

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Choose your stamp set and designer paper first.  This makes it easier to determine your colors for card stock and ink.
  • The base is cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2 just like a standard-sized card with a "tent" opening.
  • To support the base, you will need another piece of card stock in the same color cut at 4 1/4 x 4.  On the 4-inch side, score at 1/2, 2, and 3 1/2.
  • Burnish on the score lines to form a "w" shape with the two 1/2 inch scores folded up in a valley fold.  Apply adhesive to these two 1/2-inch panels and glue to the inside of the card base as seen in the first photo on this post.
  • Finish the front as desired. (For the sentiment, I stamped and cut the "life is sweet" from the longer version in the stamp set.)

Gift Tag or Card Idea with Stampin' Up! Framed Florets

Framed-florets-tag-gift

You know how we love sharing gift ideas here on Ink and Inspirations and here's another one dressed up with the Framed Florets Bundle (English) [162407] that was released this week from Stampin' Up!

This time, we are creating a tag that you can use as a card front or embellish a simple gift. This little package was purchased for this project specifically in mind for the Thanksgiving season here in the United States. When you add a fancy tag, much like this one,  just a simple package of dinner napkins that can be used during the holidays becomes something special. It really makes for a pretty presentation.

Doing this also eliminates the need for gift wrap and is just very welcomed by those who receive it as it's such a functional gift.  This project was featured on my YouTube premiere this week, so I wanted to share it here in case you missed it. Let's take a look at the video tutorial.

Lisa's Inklings:

Framed-florets-gift-tag-card

As mentioned in the video, these two gift packs are going to our granddaughter's teachers.  As a former public school teacher, I would have loved a little gift such as this one. These new products from the Fitting Florets Collection are beautiful. Here is another idea HERE.

Here are the Stampin' Up! supplies used for this project.  When you order from me, it allows me to continue to share here on the blog and social media.  Thank you in advance!

Let me know if you make a gift tag such as this one and how you plan to use it in the comments below.  Thanks for stopping by today for this gift tag idea with Stampin' Up! Framed Florets Bundle (English) [162407].

2022 Stampin' Up! Halloween Series #3

2022-stampin-up-halloween-gnome-towelWe are switching it up a bit this week for the third in a series of 2022 Stampin' Up! Halloween Projects!  This time we are looking at a cute wrap for a gift for the "young at heart".

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I am always looking for cute seasonal towels or towels that coordinate with our Stampin' Up! stamp sets or bundles.  Our daughter, Kristen, has a good eye for trends, too, and she picked up a couple of gnome-themed towels at TJ Maxx last week.

These tags are simple to make and take a simple gift and turn it into something special.  Below is a different towel with three little gnomes embroidered along the bottom.

2022-halloween-stampin-up-gnome-giftLet's take a look to see how simple it is and I encourage you to try it, too!

Lisa's Inklings:

Stampin' Up! Honeybee Home Gift Idea

Honeybee-home-stampin-up-gift-ideaToday's project is a Stampin' Up! Honeybee Home gift idea.  This one has been in my "pocket" for a while and life has been so busy, that it is delayed here on the blog.

If you have been following me for a while, you know that this is a favorite gift idea of mine and this crafter is always on the lookout for cute tea towels or kitchen towels that coordinate with our stamps and dies.  Stampin' Up! is fabulous at staying on trend so these usually are very easy to find!

Here are a couple more of my favorite "fancied-up" towels...
This one includes a cute and simple gift box as part of the presentation.

Did you see this one with the non-traditional colored rainbow?

Here's the quick video how-to for today's gift project...

Stampin' Up! Honeybee Home Gift Idea

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Cut your paper for your "tag" so that it complements the towel.  On this one, the patterned paper is cut 3-1/4 " square, and the coordinating card stock is 3-1/2" square.
  • You can use ribbon, twine, or jute to thread through the punched holes.
  • Notice how the flowers extend beyond the tag?  You are not confined to that space.  Think outside of the box!

Here are the supplies that are currently available used on this project...

Teacher Appreciation Gift

Teacher-appreciation-1Today's project is a little tag made with the Sweet Songbirds Bundle (English) [158727] from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog for Teacher Appreciation Week.

Mia graduated from pre-school this week and she gave her teachers this sweet flowering plant with a little handmade tag.

If you have been following me, you know that we have been caring for our 92-year young dad after a lengthy stay in the hospital.  We are getting him set up so that he can remain in his home with everything that he needs.  So...I have not had much time to play with all my new Stampin' Up! goodies but I did make time to make these tags for Mia. :)

Teacher-appreciation-2

My new Decorative Circle Punch [159174] had not yet arrived so an old circle punch was used for the bird.  You could also stamp and punch the bird with the coordinating bird punch. The sentiment is also punched with a retired punch but you can just cut a 3/4" strip of paper for the sentiment.  Mia's mom just wrote the teachers' names and that it was from Mia on the back of the tag.

Teacher-appreciation-week-3Here are the supplies used for this tag:

Thank you for your support! Each time you place an order through my online store, it supports my business and allows me to continue sharing!  I am grateful to serve as your demonstrator.

Makeover Magic #2 - Handmade Gift Box

Makeover-magic-handmade-gift-box-2Today's project is a makeover of a handmade gift box from a previously recorded video tutorial.

The original project was created and shared a few months ago as a holiday or hostess gift.  I love packaging tea towels or kitchen towels with our pretty Stampin' Up! goodies and making the presentation really special.  We've all heard of the adage, "presentation is everything",  and as paper crafters, we like to think that is most certainly true!

Here is the original project below. Notice the tag on the "makeover" is adhered to the box front rather than hanging from the ribbon wrap as pictured below.

Magid2-handmade-gift-bagLet's take a look at the video below for the how-to.

Handmade Gift Box

Here are some quick details for this handmade gift box.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Waves Of The Ocean Designer Series Paper [159982]is cut 8-1/2 x 12.
  • Score at 2, 5-3/4, 7-3/4, and 11-1/2 on the long side.
  • Score at 2" on both ends of 8-1/2" side for top and bottom.
  • The top will be turned to the inside for support.
  • The bottom will be cut as shown in the video to form the box bottom.

If you're curious about the towels that are used for these projects, I really love the Pioneer Woman brand towels and I have also used towels from Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics.  You can see another of these towel packaging projects HERE.

If you're ready to create this project yourself, you can find the supplies listed below.  If you do not have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I would be honored if you chose to order from me.  Each order from my online store allows me to continue to share with you.  Thank you for your support of my business.

DIY Gift Idea with Stampin' Up! Rainbow of Happiness

Rainbow-of-happiness-hostess-gift-idea

Here's one of my favorite DIY gift ideas and this one is made with the Stampin' Up! Rainbow of Happiness Bundle.

I love shopping for fun hand towels or dish towels and it's great when I find one that matches one of our stamp sets or themes!

Rainbow-of-happiness-gift-tagThis particular tag is a die from the bundle and it's adorable with the arched rainbow top.  It finished off this project nicely.

This was the second project in my premiere this week and you can see the recording of this particular project in the video below.

DIY Gift Idea with Stampin' Up! Rainbow of Happiness

Lisa's Inklings: The width of the "tag" can vary depending on the towel and design. How you fold the towel can also vary the size. This is much like a card front but the area is usually smaller.  You can accent the two ends like I did here with a tag on one end and the ribbon tied into a bow on the other.Rainbow-of-happiness-tag-gift-ideaHere are the supplies used for this project.  The Sunshine & Rainbows 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper [158126] is free with a purchase of $50!

You can create this project for any occasion and I encourage you to try!  This DIY gift with the Stampin' Up! Rainbow of Happiness Bundle will make a nice gift for someone soon!
