Super Bowl Game Day is Tomorrow!

Super-bowl-game-day-football-bannerSuper Bowl Game Day is tomorrow and here's a party decor piece for your fun gathering!   You can create this in less than an hour !  Gather your supplies and let's get started!

  • Cut green card stock to 3 x 4...7 pieces.  Mark with a pencil in the center 1 1/2" from the bottom and cut up to the point from each side creating the banner pieces.
  • Die cut game day letters. If you don't have dies, you can paint the letters with a thin brush or use chalk.
  • Draw the boundary lines at the top of each piece with chalk or a white pen or pencil.
  • The centerpiece is dark brown card stock cut the same as green pieces.
  • Use strips of white card stock for "stitching" and stripes or use paint or draw with chalk.
  • Punch two holes on the top edge of each banner piece.
  • String with baker's twine or jute.
  • Hang on a wall, on edge of the table, or use as part of your tablescape carefully laying around bowls or platters.  You can even hang on your front door to greet your guests!

See the creation of this banner and simple game day treat box in this video recording below.

Now it's time to create your Game Day banner and get ready for your Super Bowl celebration!

DIY Home Decór with Paper Crafting

Honeybee-Home-tag-card-1This may look like a really pretty springtime card made with paper crafting supplies but how about using part of it as an element of a DIY home decór project?

In last week's YouTube Premiere, this was one of our projects featured as a card and then as an element on the popular tiered trays that are so trendy right now.

In the YouTube video, you will see the how-to for this card and then how it's used on a tiered tray with some other elements created with Stampin' Up! supplies.  Let's take a look!

Details for the Honeybee Home Card:

Honeybee-Home-card-tagNow, if you watched the video above through the end, you saw how the tag element from the card above was used.  These tiered trays are so much fun to style and can be changed out for any and every occasion.

Honeybee-Home-Tiered-TrayIt was so much fun putting this piece together.  Keep an eye out for elements that you can use for whatever them you wish.  Notice the banner created with the Playful Alphabet Dies that are on the Last Chance List and will not be available much longer.  These alpha dies are just the right size for projects like this one and for card fronts.  These are a steal for the discounted price of $27.20!

2021 Stampin' Up! Thanksgiving Table Favors and Napkin Folds Episode 2

Lisa's Inklings:

2-2021-Stampin-up-thanksgiving-table-favors-and-napkin-foldsYou could dress up this pouch a bit more by scoring at 1/2" away from what would be the top and folding it down to reveal the reverse side of the designer paper.

Here are the supplies used for this 2021 Stampin' Up! Thanksgiving Table Favor:

Don't you know that your family and friends would love a little treat pouch like this waiting for them on their place setting? It doesn't have to be a hot drink packet.
Other ideas?

  • Mints or other candies
  • Scripture verse and votive candle
  • Two or three crayons and some small stamped images for the littles to color.
  • Small gratitude journal

There are lots of possibilities and I hope you will try these!  Tomorrow's 2021 Stampin' Up! Thanksgiving Table Favors and Napkin Folds Episode 3 will premiere on my YouTube channel so I'll see you then!

Mardi Gras Cancelled?

Blank 2000 x 2000 copy copy copy copy

For all intents and purposes, Mardi Gras celebrations here in the South have been cancelled but tomorrow still is Mardi Gras aka Fat Tuesday which is the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent on the Christian calendar.

  Mardi-gras-banner

In the past, there have been some projects that I've created for decor and our celebrations.  The banner above hung on our front door for Mardi Gras season for years.  The wind and weather finally got the best of it!

Below is a Mardi Gras card from the past...

Here is a treat that is sometimes a "Throw" along with beads and toys at a Mardi Gras parade...Moon Pie!

And, while it may be freezing/icy outside, our carnival spirit is kicking it here in Southeast Texas!

Lyla's Birthday

Lyla-is-5Our Lyla's 5th  birthday was a couple of weeks ago.  While we were not there for her birthday party for friends, we were able to celebrate with her last week.  Today I am sharing her birthday banner and card that carried out the theme of her party, Frozen 2.

IMG_4702For her birthday banner, the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper [153512] and Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper [153513] along with the Snowflake Wishes Bundle (English) [155172] were used.  As a backing for the letters cut from retired Stampin' Up! letter dies us a Whisper White Cardstock [100730] cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies [152886]. Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems [153547] gems add a bit of sparkle and the bottom corners were punched with the Detailed Trio Punch [146320].

Lyla-is-fiveHere's the complete banner.  These banners are very easy to make and always make a nice addition to party decór.  Lyla's mom has her banner hung above the window seat/reading nook  in her room.

Snowflake-splendor-birthday-cardHere's a close-up of her birthday card made with the same supplies.  Again, the dies that cut the "5" are retired.  I have a set of letter and number dies that have come in handy so many times!

Birthday-card-snowflake-splendorHere's the complete front of the card.  See how the "5" looks dimensional? I die cut it with a piece of our Foam Adhesive Sheets [152815] adhered to the back. It's like having a full sized dimensional adhesive for any shape!

It's such a joy to create projects for our granddaughters on their birthdays. Like any handmade paper craft, a lot of love goes into these projects. Hope you have enjoyed seeing some of the creations for Lyla's birthday.
