2018 Valentine Treat #2

2018-valentine-treats-2aToday's project is my second Valentine treat holder for 2018.  It's cute and easy and can be adapted for any occasion.

Tucked inside this mini Valentine gift is an individually packed heart candy that measures about 3" x 4" and is about 1/2" - 3/4" thick.

To me, the star of this project is the new Ready Shreddie (145562) filler. I love this accessory and the fussy, fancy look it gives to this project.  It is SO fun to use and comes in a pack of three colors with plenty for lots of projects.

Let's take a look at the video tutorial for this fun Valentine treat.

CLICK HERE to see this Valentine treat video on You Tube.

2018-valentine-treats-2bLisa's Inklings:

  • For box, cut card stock to 3 3/4" x 7 1/2".  Score on the log side at 3/4", 3 1/2", 4 1/4", and 7".   Turn and score at 1/2" and 1 1/4".
  • Designer paper for box is cut at 2 1/2" wide by 2 1/4" tall.
  • Try putting the treat in the box before stuffing with the Ready Shreddie.  Easier to determine how much you need and you can arrange it to look all fancy. ;)

Tuesday Tip- Cardmaking 101: Dressing Up Your Envelopes for Handmade Cards

This evening (before Tuesday is over!), I have a quick tip for dressing up those envelopes for your handmade cards.  By using designer or patterened paper that coordinates with your cards, you can create matching envelopes for each one you make!

Let's take a look at the quick video tutorial below...

Today's video for dressing up your envelopes for handmade cards can be seen HERE on You Tube.

Lisa's Inklings...other ways to dress up envelopes:

  • Stamp image used on card on front lower corner of the envelope.
  • Use a sponge to add a coordinating color to the edges of your envelope.
  • A coordinating color of washi tape can add a "slice" of color when added about 1/4" up from the bottom edge of envelope.
  • Spritz color by mixing ink refill drops with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin' Spritzer.

Try the tip in today's video and the others listed above to dress up those envelopes for your handmade cards!

Makeover Monday- Simple Card Idea with Stampin' Up! Bear Hugs

Stampin-up-bear-hugs-card-makeover-mondayOne of my most 'Pinned" cards on Pinterest is a simple, single layer card idea that was the inspiration for today's makeover featuring the adorable Bear Hugs stamp set from Stampin' Up!

These bears look so cute peeking in from every angle, don't you think?  I decided to die cut the hats and bows with the matching framelits to add a punch of color.

Let's take a look at the original video tutorial below...

  • Un-wind the threads of your twine to get that messy fiber embellishment look.
  • Turn your card base as you stamp to get the look you want.
  • The die cut hats and bows replaced the buttons for a punch of color.
  • The Stampin' Up! Hand Held Stapler provides an easy attachment for the word die cut and thread.
