DIY Card Making- Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolor

DIY Card Making- Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolor

DIY Card making is a fun way to express your creative side and share a bit of happiness and love with others.  Try this idea using the Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolor set (wood, clear). Making two of the same style at once is a time saver!  One to send now and one for later!

  • The card bases were made from a left over piece of another project measuring at 5 x 7 each and scored in the middle at 3 1/2.
  • Happy Watercolor DSP provided the back drop...2 strips cut at 5 x 1 1/2.
  • The bottom strip was stamped and embossed with the floral stem from the Happy Watercolor set.
  • A cut piece of Tea Lace Doilies was adhered at the "seam" of the two dsp pieces to add as a backdrop for the main image.
  • Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon creates the border along the "seam".
  • The large bloom from Happy Watercolor set was stamped and embossed on Watercolor paper, colored with ink and an Aqua Painter then punched with a 1 3/4 Circle Punch.
  • A complimentary piece of the DSP was punched with the Decorative Label punch.
  • Both punched pieces were sponged around the edges with a coordinating ink color and mounted on the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The "hi" sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set "Banner Blast" and punched with the Sale-A-Bration Banner punch.

Stampin' Up! Petal Cone Santa Revisited and a Re-Do!

Stampin' Up! Petal Cone Santa

A couple of years ago, these little Santas were created in my stamp room with the Stampin' Up! Petal Cone Die, other die cuts and a few punches.  And, let me tell you...everyone has just loved them!

But, sadly, Stampin' Up! no longer carries the Petal Cone die so I had to come up with a substitute to share.

And, thus, the Triangle Box Santas were born!

Stampin' Up! Lovely Little Labels and Fan Fair Thank You Card

Stampin up fan fair banner thank you card
Stampin' Up! Fan Fair and Lovely Little Labels
Thank You Card

Today's card is a "thank you" that I made for a friend using the beautiful Fan Fair Designer Series Paper (126918) and the Lovely Little Labels(126260-wood, 126262-clear) set.  That Little Labels Punch Pack(126881) is adorable and compliments this set perfectly!

The main image is one of several that can be found on one of the sheets in the designer paper pack.  Just a little trimming with my Paper Snips(103579) was all I needed for this main image with a sweet sentiment.

I usually send my card with the message written on a post it note inside so that the recipient can use it to send if they wish.  The card is then a greeting and a gift!  The recipient of this card sent a sweet message to me that said she wanted to keep it for herself.  Ah...the power of a card!

  • The heart is created with the Full Heart (119883)punched from the Natural Compositions Specialty Paper(126917) and sponged with Riding Hood Red ink(126968).
  • The little banners were created with the Bitty Banners Framelits(129267) cut in half.  Holes were punched with our hand held hole punch and strung together with Linen Thread (104199).
  • Anchoring this mini banner are the Designer Vintage Faceted Buttons(127555) along with help of some Glue Dots (103683).

  • The Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set used here allows for easy stamping!  Love, love, love it!  It's available in wood and clear mount.
  • When using designer paper in your Big Shot with dies that have scoring marks such as one; cut only one at a time to avoid cutting through on the creased lines.
  • Those thin, crumpled strips card stock used as filler really add to the projects overall appearance. That extra pop if color is awesome!
  • The 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches are just the right size for these images. Speeds up the whole process, too!
Be sure to check back in tomorrow for the video tutorial for this Stampin' Up! Halloween Scalloped Envelope Treat Box.  See you then!
