Cardmaking Video with Beautiful Vellum

Cardmaking-idea-video-vellum

Today's project features a simple cardmaking project and video tutorial with some beautiful vellum.   This particular print design is from the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper collection from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Occasions Catalog.

Admittedly, sometimes this card maker will shy away from using vellum.  The adhesive has to be strategically placed.  With this beautiful print, it was easy to camouflage behind some of the colored blossoms and the die cut label.

Let's take a look at the video tutorial.  You'll see how this vellum piece just "makes" this card!

Lisa's Inkings:

  • The card base is Petal Pink cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
  • Vellum layer is cut 4" x 5 1/4".
  • The label is die cut from a 4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.
  • You'll need  14" - 18" of ribbon.

Here are the supplies used to create this card.  Just click the pics below to shop!

Rubber Stamping with the Stamparatus

If you haven't discovered this great tool for rubber stamping, the Stamparatus, then you are really missing out a great "helper"!

The Stamparatus has been around for a little while but wanted to share one easy technique that is really helpful.   The multi-step stamping with this tool makes it so convenient to create multiples of the same card a one such a breeze.  Think invitations, announcements, holiday cards, classroom treats...you get the picture.

Let's take a look at the video that was recorded just last week while preparing for my Stamp Club.

From the Stampin' Up! online store...

A must-have tool for all stampers, the Stamparatus® helps you perfectly align stamp images, stamp multiples of the same project quickly and precisely, and get complete ink coverage.

It was created by stampers for stampers, so it has all the features you want:

* Compatible with red rubber and photopolymer stamps
* 2 magnets to hold the paper in place
* Rulers on 2 sides for quick measuring
* 2 open sides so you can use larger paper
* Multiple hinges for more placement options
* 2 reversible plates for 4 sides to work with
* 1 foam mat for use with photopolymer
* 1 base with a grid
* Magnet storage areas

Recently, Stampin' Up! added some accessories to accompany this tool to make it even more amazing!

Extra plates for even more stamping steps.

Need extra magnets?

Love these grid sheets sized especially for the Stamparatus!

I love my Stamparatus bag!

Bottom line is, if you don't have a Stamparatus...now is the time!  You will love it.   It will be a helpful tool and order it plus one more item and you will qualify for the beautiful set you saw in the video or any of the items seen HERE.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you'll try making your rubber stamping even better with the Stampin' Up! Stamparatus.

Add This Simple Special Touch to Your Cardmaking

Special-simple-touch-cardmaking

Today's project features a tip that you can use to add a special touch to your cardmaking.  It's simple and a little "dab" will do ya!  (I am definitely dating myself!)

The main image on this card is from one of the beautiful Sale-A-Bration sets, All Adorned, which was released in February. You can only get it by earning it for FREE with a $50 product purchase. This ornate look inspired me to create a card to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, March 17th.  But, really, you can wish someone a lucky day any time!

Instead of using the traditional greens, Mint Macaron and Shaded Spruce from Stampin' Up! take the spotlight here.  And, see that little sparkle and shine?  That's the secret!  Let's take a look at today's video tutorial.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • The card base is Mint Macaron cut at 4 1/4" x 11".
  • Shaded Spruce layer is cut  4" x 4 3/4".
  • The Gold Glimmer strips are cut 4" x 1/2".
  • Whisper White for the main image is cut 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".

Your Questions Answered: Which Black Ink for Rubber Stamping?

QA1.blog-post-image

Let's talk about the best black ink to use for rubber stamping.

One of the most asked questions is "How do I know when to use Memento Tuxedo Black ink and when to use Jet Black Stazon?"

Although I've addressed this question in other videos, here's one devoted to it.

To clean stamps after using Stazon, use our Stazon Cleaner. Then clean with our Stampin' Mist or Simply Shammy.
