Unexpected Joy: Autumn Card Makeover with Stack, Cut, Shuffle

Sometimes the best card ideas come from makeovers of past favorites! Today’s project is a makeover of fun technique…the stack, cut, and shuffle. This time, the Amber Autumn Stamp Set and Gathering Together Specialty Designer Series Paper are featured.

This design is a wonderful way to get multiple cards from a single cut of paper while letting the beautiful patterns shine. Paired with a great sentiment, it’s perfect for sending an Unexpected Joy to someone as a wonderful surprise.

I’ve embedded the original video tutorial below so you can follow along with the technique and see just how versatile it can be.

Imagine how special a card like this would feel tucked into a friend’s mailbox, shared with a neighbor, or even given anonymously in your community.

Lisa’s Inklings:

  • Start with three coordinating sheets of 6 x 6 patterned paper.
  • Cut off at 4 1/4″.
  • Cut this 6″ x 4 1/4″ piece in half at 3″.
  • Cut each 3″ piece in half at 1 1/2″.
  • Cut one 1 1/2″ stack at 4″ (trim off 1/4″.)
  • Cut that 4″ strip at 2 1/2″.
  • Follow the instructions in the video to assemble the pieces on a 5 x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White.
