There’s something extra special about a birthday card that surprises the recipient the moment they open it. Fun fold cards do exactly that and this diamond fun fold design is one of my favorites when I want a card that feels thoughtful and special.
This week’s theme at Ink and Inspirations is Fresh Starts, Meaningful Connections, and birthdays fit that theme perfectly. They’re a chance to celebrate life, reflect on another year, and let someone know how much you care.
Main Project Details
For today’s project, I created a diamond fun fold birthday card that stands beautifully and with a panel for your birthday message on the back.
What I especially love about this card is the mix of new and familiar products:

Using a bold black-and-white patterned paper gives this card a modern feel, while the birthday sentiment keeps it versatile for many ages. This fold also works well with scraps or leftover designer paper and that’s always a bonus!
For the back of the card, I kept the design clean allowing room for a handwritten message. Sometimes less really is more, especially for birthday cards that will be read and saved.

One of my favorite things about a new catalog launch is rediscovering how well new products pair with items we already love. You don’t need to start from scratch…you can just mix and match.

- Base is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 2″, 4″, 4 1/4″, 6 1/4″, 8 1/4″, 8 1/2″.
- Designer paper panels are cut 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.
- Basic White panel is cut 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.
